The holiday property is full of character with open fires wooden floors oak shutters and an impressive wood-panelled entrance hall. This wonderful property offers spacious comfortable accommodation for groups of friends or a large family in a truly picturesque setting. From the house and lawned gardens enjoy panoramic and uninterrupted views over the whole of the Bagot’s Park Estate. There is a small adjoining occupied cottage. The traditional market town of Uttoxeter is just 5 miles from the property with weekly markets a local golf course and Uttoxeter Racecourse. The city of Lichfield 15 miles is full of history boasting the only medieval cathedral in Europe with 3 spires and it is also the birthplace of Samuel Johnson. Shugborough Hall is a 15-minute drive away. For younger guests Drayton Manor theme park and zoo is a 30-minute drive as is Alton Towers. For those with more restful plans a health spa can be found close by. The property is an ideal base for walkers as the renowned Staffordshire Way footpath crosses the farm and is easily accessed from Park Lodge by walking a few hundred yards down a concrete road. There is good road access for the Peak District and in addition the Potteries are within a 30-minute drive with numerous factory shops and the history of Josiah Wedgwood and the pottery industry.     Great location, house spacious with good facilities. But not as clean as I would expect. Fridge not clean, Lounge dusty and dining table not clean (white deposit).

    Perfect place for a group. Ideal for a large family, or a get together for a group. We were a bunch of hens who wanted catch up on the chat whilst crafting and eating/drinking together. We did not feel that we had to walk on eggshells - the property is comfortable without being precious. The cooker is ample for a large group and there are two dishwashers (we could maybe have used more fridge space but in February that was not a problem). The house is a wonderful space to get lost in, the sofas are comfortable and we were very cosy despite wind and weather.

    Fabulous weekend away in this traditional, well equipped and large property. Perfect for friends and family to gather. Loads of room inside and out to relax and enjoy the beautiful location. The welcome pack was a fabulous surprise and we will definitely be booking again!

    Enjoyed a lovely family Christmas in this magnificent spacious Lodge. Large comfortable bedrooms, huge 12 seater dining table and a pleasant country kitchen with all the amenities you need. The Lodge had a beautiful Christmas tree in the panelled reception room and a wonderful open fireplace in the large lounge with ample logs provided. Copious amounts of piping hot water at all times and central heating kept the house warm throughout our stay. It was let down by cleanliness for example the bathroom ceiling lights in the master bedroom and adjacent shower room were full of dead flies not cleaned up for at least one summer. Also some bedrooms suffered from damp/mould issues. The Lodge is remote being 3 miles from the nearest village, with shop and pubs. There are great walks from the lodge and the Staffordshire Way is close by. A great country getaway and as you'd expect from a shooting lodge pheasants are abundant. Also saw deer herds including an albino deer and a barn owl. We had a lot of rain during our week and wellies were a must if you ventured outside. it would be a different experience in the summer months.
