Initial logs for wood burner included. Travel cot and highchair. Welcome pack and doggy extras. Small enclosed raised lawned garden with sitting-out area garden furniture and BBQ. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. \n Pear Tree Cottage is a delightful semi-detached period cottage in the village of Wenhaston close to Southwold and the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The property benefits from a large double bedroom accessed through the single room. The annexe with a double bedroom and en-suite shower room is a building adjoining the cottage with a separate exterior door only a few steps from the cottage entrance. A wood burner in the low-beamed living room makes sitting by the fire the perfect way to spend a cooler evening. The stunning mature enclosed garden is raised and private ideal for dog owners and is a perfect place to sit out on the warm summer evenings that this popular part of Suffolk enjoys. There are two parking spaces but one is only suitable for a small car high speed broadband 60-70mb is available and normally a good mobile reception on most networks.\nYou are ideally placed to explore both coast and country at this location. There is a popular traditional pub serving food and real ales within walking distance of the cottage which also has a cosy open fire. You can enjoy walking routes that take you through to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty close to Blythburgh. The parish church features the celebrated Wenhaston Doom painting one of the finest such exhibits in the country depicting the final judgement of souls.\nThe market town of Halesworth is a short drive inland and has a rich history of brewing malting and agriculture. A wonderful blend of old and new buildings can be seen throughout the town. You can explore the independent shops including bakers antique shops and of course pubs and restaurants.\nTo the east is the ever popular location of Southwold which can be easily reached by bus or car. This coastal town is known for its sandy beach and colourful beach huts that line the promenade which leads to the iconic pier. Popular with young and old the pier was built in 1900 and it was restored in 1987 and now offers a café restaurant and traditional Victorian entertainment. Together with stunning views it really is a must when visiting Suffolk. Southwold has an array of winding streets lined with bustling shops as well as independent quirky and award-winning restaurants. It is also the home of Adnams a Suffolk brewery renowned for its ale.\nAlso nearby is the RSPB reserve at Minsmere as seen on TV and home to a large colony of avocets. Beach 6 miles. Shop ½ mile pub and restaurant 500 yards. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/142/840/1421250.jpg UKC2977

Not a good cottage if you are a tall person due to low head heights through doorways. Shower facilities were poor in both bathrooms . No shower curtain in main bathroom because of slope to ceiling makes using the shower attachment impossible if you cant sot down in bath. Electric shower in annex en suite was either too hot or too cold and impossible to regulate. The toilet flush in main bath room failed at one point. Kitchen not that well equipped for example no oven gloves available. The oven could do with a good clean. Location of cottage was convenient for local.places like Southwold. Local pub good food and dogs welcome

Great location. Cottage was ideal for our family of four plus one dog. Food at The Star Inn was excellent.

Great cottage in a great location. Having the anex also made the cottage idea as we were a couple with an extra parent. The cottage is small but perfectly formed and does have a lot of character. We really enjoyed our stay.

First view of the cottage we were pleased although the next neighbour further up the drive came out to say we could not block her entrance whilst we unloaded. Parking was quite difficult and we had to cut back the vegetation to get our car into the second space. Unfortunately on entering the cottage, it was very dirty eg. floor in lounge and annex bedroom, TV table, cobwebs in lounge, kitchen and up the stairs, waste bins not emptied, out of date milk carton and dirty plate left in fridge, empty soap container left in the first floor bathroom. The description of the accommodation stated that the first floor bathroom had "a shower over the bath" - this was a big plus in choosing Pear Tree Cottage, in fact it was a handheld shower attachment! I could not use it! It could have been ideal, what a shame.

We read all the reviews and laughed BUT unfortunately this cottage is not what we were hoping for. When trying to find it in the dark it would be useful to mention where it is in relation to Rose Cottage and also that you need to come through the back gate across the back garden to get access - not so good on a wet stormy dark night on your own with wet foliage to negotiate. The shower over the bath is not fit for purpose; the velux roof lights do not have covers and the sun shines in onto the bed making it difficult to sleep; the water pressure is ridiculous but not the owners fault; there is nowhere to store any provisions in the kitchen other than on the surfaces; there are only 4 chairs at the table and yet advertised for 5; the place is old fashioned not shabby chic for instance the cooker works ok but the temperature knob is not legible so there is a picture on the wall to help you guess the right temperature. Also the cleaners are not as good as they should be. We made the best of it but as we rent properties ourselves were a bit surprised at the standards.

A lovely little cottage in a quiet setting. Cosy secure garden for the dog. Just beware the low doorways!

Pear Tree Cottage is situated in a quiet traffic free location with many footpaths and an excellent pub within easy walking distance. For two couples plus a dog the location was perfect! The cottage itself has comfortable beds and seating and two bathrooms which, together with a downstairs bedroom makes it ideal for the less able bodied. There was a plentiful supply of logs which were much appreciated, given the cold spell we experienced in May.

Cottage and garden lovely Very quiet which was bliss Found the light curtains and skylight in annex quite frustrating as it let too much light in morning. Water tap pressure in kitchen quite high - unexpected soakings. One bedroom wasn’t that warm - with no heating. Great value for money though , lovely having a wood burner My family enjoyed it though Thankyou We’d stay again

Lovely cottage in a great rural location. Parking in the shared drive is “very” tight, so taking small cars would make it easier. There were a few minor maintenance issues (extractor hood, shower head, annex door, sticking windows, bathroom tap all need attention). WiFi is fantastic. Would stay again.

It looked so pretty from the pictures. We have stayed in cottages all over England and this was rather disappointing. Some parts of the cottage were lovely. The wood left for us to use for the wood burner was generous and the welcome shortbread and wine was a lovely touch. We stayed for the Christmas week and from the description of the cottage I was looking forward to cooking Christmas dinner. Unfortunately the oven and oven trays were dirty and I needed to wash saucepans before using them. The cutlery was clean but it was upsetting to wash the oven etc before use! The kitchen floor also needed a clean. The living room however was comfortable and clean as were the bedrooms. We left two nights early however as it is haunted and it just became too much.
