No smoking.\n This spacious single-storey holiday property adjoining the owners’ home is wonderfully situated in the Harewood area of Calstock well known for its mild micro-climate where several plant nurseries are based. The little historic village of Calstock nestles on the banks of the River Tamar on the Devon and Cornwall border in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the iconic railway viaduct spanning the meandering river. Calstock has a couple of pubs and enjoys a great atmosphere especially in the summer. For the active visitors the owners host walking parties in the local area and you are most welcome to join in. Guests can enjoy fresh flowers and cream tea on arrival and relax in the lawned garden. Couples of all ages will like the quiet yet convenient location. Boat trips and canoes can be hired locally.     An excellent welcome from Steve the owner who had kindly let us arrive early for our long weekend break. The kitchen diner is large and so well equipped with a seating area outside the door and adjoining large garden. The living room was spacious, well lit and comfortable with an electric woodburning stove to top up the central heating which is good throughout. Next door was the large bedroom with comfy bed and masses of storage space. Only the cramped shower in the bathroom might have been an issue for us staying for one or two weeks. The location and area exceeded our expectations and as we love walking it was a delight to read the walking groups local walks journals [led by Maggie, Steve's wife].Perfect for our two dogs, the cottage and location will be in our memories. We would return without hesitation.

    A comfortable and well equipped property located in a beautiful area. The cottage is half a mile down a single track road through woodland. The lounge and bedroom are spacious and well furnished, however the kitchen/dining area is quite large but in need of a deep clean and the tiny bathroom requires some serious TLC.
