Hoseasons "Ideally situated for visiting the Ceredigion coastline and countryside there is so much to see and do nearby. \n\n\nGround Floor \n\nAll on the \nground floor.\n\n\nLivingdining room\n With wood burner 43 Satellite Smart TV and beams.\n\nKitchen \nWith electric cooker microwave fridgefreezer dishwasher and washing machine.\n\nBedroom 1\n With zip and link super kingsize bed can be twin beds on request.\n\nBedroom 2 \nWith double bed.\n\nBathroom\n With shower over bath toilet and heated towel rail.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nElectric storage heaters electricity bed linen towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Enclosed courtyard with garden furniture. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note Sorry no hen or stag parties.\n\n Perhaps derived from the Welsh for ‘at the end of the wooden bridge’ Penpompren is a sweet detached cottage in a sleepy location in the Cwm Rheidol valley. The cottage has been carefully prepared and presented by the owner who wants you to have a lovely stay. The livingdining room has exposed full height A-frame beams and double aspect windows which give a light and airy feel and the wood burner offers that authentic country experience. Curl up on the comfy leather corner sofa with a good book and a glass of wine and while away a few hours. The kitchen is well-equipped for all your needs and leads out onto the enclosed courtyard garden where there is a table and chairs for al fresco dining or your morning coffee. There are two bedrooms one with zip and link beds and one with a double as well as a family bathroom. Penpompren is pet friendly so you can bring along your furry friends.\n \nThe cottage is just a mile from the beautiful Cwm Rheidol reservoir and the nearby Rheidol hydropower plant is the largest of its kind in England and Wales. Since 1962 it has generated renewable energy by using the rainwater that falls on the surrounding mountains. There is a fascinating free visitor centre open May-Sep with interactive educational models for the younger generation who want to learn about renewable energy as well as a café.\n\nCwm Rheidol is close to the local red kite feeding centre so kites and buzzards are seen in the skies all the time. Bat colonies have set up home in and around the visitor centre buildings which have been refurbished with due consideration of the preservation of the bats and the centre has set up boxes for barn owls and have many other small birds that nest on site including swallows and wagtails. The River Rheidol is also a breeding area for salmon and trout. Visit the Magic of Life Butterfly House just over a mile away or explore the Silver Mountain Experience just a 20-minute drive away. Here you can embark on an adventure of guided tours discovering the history of the silver lead mine or experience the Welsh myths through actor led shows. Whilst you are here do take the meandering Vale of Rheidol Narrow Gauge Steam Railway from Devil’s Bridge to Abersytwyth or vice versa. The dramatic waterfalls at Devil’s Bridge are quite a sight and there’s a chocolate shop bar and restaurant too. The Victorian seaside town of Aberystwyth is only 8 miles away where you will find the pier and promenade electric cliff railway to the summit of Constitution Hill and of course lots of shops cafés and restaurants. Once you are in Aberystwyth head north or south and explore the amazing Ceredigion coastline with lovely beaches many dog friendly all year round pretty seaside towns and 60 miles of coastal path\n\nWhether there are just two of you looking for a peaceful or romantic break or a family of four seeking adventure you won’t be disappointed with this stunning area and Penpompren is the perfect place to unwind. Beach 10 miles. Shop pub and restaurant 4 miles. " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/105/840/10598405.jpg UK10081

Location was great - however, this cottage needs some tlc - the carpets need replacing, the fridge is far to small for 4 people, mould around the bath and mould on the shower curtain. Cold water tap in the bathroom sink needs attention. Dining area not adequate for 4 people. The court yard area smelt of dog wee and not a very spacious area. No where to dry wet clothes, although there were pegs! Storage heating system seemed to have a mind of its own - we hadn't altered anything. Shame as it wouldn't take much to get it right. I would say suitable for 2 persons.

This cottage is in a valley, nowhere near any amenities and that is why we chose it. If you want to get away from it all, this is for you. Everything about the actual cottage was excellent.

Lovely cottage but smaller than it looks on the photos! We went at a time of year where a lot of things were still shut but I was a lovely location although a drive to everything. Lots to go to nearby. Would recommend the Half Way Inn and their Sunday lunch - but would recommend booking!

Lovely cosy cottage, we travelled as 3 adults and 2 dogs. We were all very comfortable despite storm Ciara hitting us at the weekend. Plenty of surrounding footpaths to explore, but easy access to delightful beaches such as Yynaslas, perfect for dogs. Log burner was very efficient and very cosy. Lovely touches by the owner in supplying tennis balls, dog treats, dog bed and poo bags. Plenty of kitchen utensils and sharp knives. Good to have an allocated parking space in which we could fit the truck into. The only slight draw back we found was no DVD player. We will definitely book again.

Lovely little cottage in the Reidol Valley, spectacular scenery and only a few miles from Aberystwyth. The cottage is very comfortable with all you could need and spotlessly clean. Dwynwen her mum and sister are lovely hosts.

We had a lovely break with our two dogs. The cottage had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful. We would definitely return.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Great for walks from the door. Has everything you need to be comfortable. Just be mindful that if you don’t know the area you will be about 15-20 mins from town , but in a wonderful peaceful spot. The beds are really comfy and the cottage was very clean. Would certainly recommend to stay here.

Fabulous cottage on the middle of nowhere. Stunning location perfect for walking and enjoying the countryside. Comfortable and homey

Well equipped and dog friendly cottage in a beautiful and peaceful location. The outside space is limited, which was not a problem for us but may not suit everyone. Masses to do in the surrounding area, including lots of dog friendly walks. Owner had left a wealth of information about the area which was fantastic. We were extremely lucky with the weather which was a definite bonus. The cottage is in quite an isolated spot, which for us was perfect and not a problem at all, and there is a good choice of restaurants / supermarkets etc in Aberystwyth but probably a good idea to arrive with some basic supplies. WIFI was a bit erratic, again not problem for us.
