Dining room with tiled floor. 2 bedrooms 1 double 1 twin. Wet room with toilet. \n Elec NSH elec bed linen and towels inc. Tcot. Hchair. Freeview TV. CD. Elec cooker. Mwave. Wmachine. Ffreezer. Patio and furniture. Hot tub for 4 shared with other property on-site. Ample parking. No smoking.\n Two charming converted outbuildings on a farm close to the historic town of Aberystwyth. With a relaxing shared hot tub Pentre Cottage and Rheidol Cottage make an ideal base from which to explore the area and are ideally located as a touring base for all of Wales benefiting from its central location. The setting is beautiful with unspoilt rolling hills which are wonderfully peaceful and yet have many hidden activities such as clay pigeon shooting quad biking pony trekking and golf courses should you wish to create an activity holiday out of your break. A nature walk starts just near the cottage and is a regular place to spy red kites and other such glorious birds and wildlife.     Place was dirty and needed cleaning before anything could be done, cups were filthy, scrap heaters and an old high chair at the side of the property, dog poo all over the rear lawn that had not been mowed in weeks. some wierd outbuilding full of rubbish at the rear. Garden isnt secure if you have that kind of dog. We got there eventually (apalling directions) to find the key left in the door and all the heaters off, place was freezing and no instructions for use, literally nothing at all. No WiFi despite constantly complaining about it. The shower drain blocked on the 2nd day, flooding the bathroom and nearly the bedroom. nothing was done despite reporting it numerous times. Fortunately I'm a plumber so I sorted it, clogged with everything you can put down a drain. vile. I could however do nothing to help the moving toilet, I could have walked out with it, it's that loose!! The new heaters are good at keeping you awake with the brightest blue LED glow I've ever seen. Didn't need the lights at night, so bright! Guess how I slept...... and the old one has 0 instructions and a mind of its own. By far the most concerning part has to do with the safety equipment in the property. It is there to keep you safe if the worst should happen and is a legal requirement. The fire blanket looks like it's been used and folded back up and stuffed into its box, then turned upside down to ensure it stays put. Then there's the the in case of fire poster, obscured by tat and not visable. But by far the best is the fire extinguisher, its not been checked in 20 years and has zero pressure in it. if anything happened youd lose everything and have no insurance coverage. (All of the above I have photographic evidence of this as I literally couldn't make any of this up.) On the plus side the hot tub was a very welcome (and clean) addition. Local amenities are good, having a morrisons nearby and tesco and M&S food close also, so whatever food you want is close at hand. Not that you can cook in the kitchen, there's more prep space on a playing card. Ready meals only kind of kitchen in reality. Ive stayed in smaller places with better designed kitchens. The place was origanlly designed to be wheelchair friendly, then that builder got fired, as the place has a walk in shower, lower lightswitches and ramps but nothing else is geared to this end. its a strange place indeed - the kitchen units are normal height, the furniture is positioned to be completly in the way and the washing machine / dryer are inaccessable to normal humans. The hot tub was really the only saving grace, it did make a big difference to what could have only been as awful place. Booked on a credit card, Thank God. Now ive finally recovered (slept) ill be seeking advice.
