Welcome to Wallsend! A selection of 5 luxury glamping pods in Bowness on Solway. Situated on a peaceful site on the beautiful shores of the Solway in Northern Cumbria. Perfect for a romantic break or ideal for family fun, these cute timber pods have everything you need for a memorable stay.

Sleeping up to 2 adults and 2 children, these luxury glamping pods come with a kitchenette so you can cook while you’re away, equipped with a 2-ring hob, microwave, fridge and ice box. You also have an en-suite shower room with toilet, sink and heated towel rail. You’ll enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep as each pod features a double bed and a double sofa bed suitable for up to two children. There’s a small dining table and four chairs and also a patio with picnic bench. These purpose built mini-lodges are well-insulated and come fully heated; you have a glazed entrance with French doors which allow plenty of daylight and pleasant views. Outside, you have a large lawned area, shared with the other pods on site, plenty of space and you can also hire a fire pit for those cosy nights by the campfire. All pods come with TV and Wi-Fi.

A few miles west of Carlisle lies Bowness-on-Solway. It is part of the Solway Coast, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition, the area is ideal for walkers and cyclists, and it is rich in wildlife and birdlife for nature lovers. Nearby is Hadrian’s Wall, which dates from the early second century AD. In the local area you can enjoy stunning coastal views and there are plenty of walks available from the doorstep. Running through Bowness on Solway is cycle route 72, known as ‘Hadrian’s Cycleway’; if you love cycling you’ll love this part of Cumbria.

The area has a great selection of nature reserves teaming with wildlife. Bowness itself has a tearoom and a pub serving local ales and great food within walking distance. You have a number of cafés and restaurants in Silloth which is a nice drive along the coast, where you have arguably the best golf course in Cumbria. There’s plenty of activities nearby, a public swimming pool, alpaca walks, climbing walls and plenty of culture to take in including the Rum Story, go karting at Maryport and Carlisle Castle to name a few. If you like lakes and mountains, you are about 30 minutes from The Lake District National Park and about 55 minutes’ drive from Keswick.

Pickhill can booked together with Acremire (UK1523), Barwise (UK1524), Whitemire (UK1526) and Tepee (UK1527) to accommodate up to 10 adults and 6 children.
