After receiving a phone call to say that we might not be able to use the Cottage, following a thunder storm and the subsequent difficulties, we were told it was available. There were several issues: the oven didn't work, the showers were running slow, water was leaking alongside the drive and the internet had 'blown'. Whilst these issues were beyond the owners control, it wasn't the best start. We were pleased that Mark did everything he could to get things up and running: he also invited us to the Moon and Mushroom for dinner and drinks, which was appreciated. However, we do think that Primrose Cottage, as we found it, didn't live up to the marketing. Specifically the garden is overgrown and did not match the photographs in the advertising. We couldn't get close to the pond, the vegetable garden was almost non-existent. The summer house was in need of a good clean. It would have helped to have had suitable chairs to sit on in the garden as the ones provided were not for 'relaxing'. A shame - we were looking forward to relaxing in the garden. The cottage itself lacked 'finesse' when it came to cleaning, eg water marks on the bathroom walls. Unfortunately there was a strong smell of damp and the living room was therefore not used. Good access to many local attractions. But the house is very close to a busy 'B' road and therefore car noise was much more than expected during the day and into the evening. Finally, the sign for Primrose Cottage is broken and doesn't give a good first impression. Overall, this Holiday Cottage did not give value for money.

The cottage was lovely, well equipped and the gardens were amazing. Overall we had a very good time. The only negatives really were due to the number of dust collectors in the property, it could have been cleaner in places and unfortunately for us, it was a cold spell and some of the house was freezing. I would probably return but it Would be in the summer.
