    A haven for outdoor enthusiasts, leisurely walks can be enjoyed along the banks of the River Dee which runs along the edge of this popular and historic village, while the adventurous can tackle the region’s famous mountains. There are good opportunities for canoeing and mountain biking as well as skiing at the Lecht and Glenshee during the winter months. Golf is available in Ballater itself as well as Braemar and Banchory, and the castles and gardens at Balmoral, Crathes and Craigievar are well worth a visit. Ballater, well known for its Royal connections, has a wide range of good shops and restaurants, all within easy reach of the property. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.

    Ballater is ideally situated to explore Desire and Pronyshiel is ideally situated in Ballater. Large enclosed garden and is very private, although very near the shops and restaurants in Ballater.

    second time at this cottage great wee cottage in middle of town but set back off main road every thing you need owner very welcoming and helpful

    The cottage is in an excellent location. Spacious and a lovely garden. Five minute walk from the shops, pubs and cafes. Great walking from the doorstep. Dog friendly pubs in the town, although a couple were not serving food or were closed as it was out of season. Cottage could do with a little updating and a few more pans etc. in the kitchen, but it was cosy and comfortable. A great holiday with unbelievably good weather. Would have been good if there was a guest book to write a review.
