This little detached gem is the epitome of romantic escapes and nestles deep within the estate. The intimate Quarry Gardens Lodge has its own driveway and adjoining secret garden. Complete with luxury furnishings, kingsize bed and a freestanding bath, this is a perfect romantic escape. Downstairs the well-appointed living room has a wood burner, perfect for those cosy romantic nights. The well-equipped kitchen is the place to rustle up a meal for two and then enjoy eating it in the dining room overlooking the garden. Upstairs, the bedroom has a kingsize bed, and adjoining it, the bathroom boasts a freestanding cast iron bath to soak away your cares at the end of the day.
The lodge is in a secluded setting with wonderful walks around the estate and discounted entry to the wonderful walled garden and café serving delicious fresh food from the garden and local suppliers (also on Gordon Castle Estate). The Gordon Castle Estate is the historical home of the Gordons, one of Scotland’s oldest families. The estate nestles in the Spey Valley, in the heart of whisky country, with a stretch of the River Spey running through the estate, with some of the best salmon fishing in the world. Today, the estate offers the ideal venue for a fishing holiday in the Scottish Highlands, with 8 miles of double bank fly-fishing managed on the world renowned River Spey (one of the ‘big four’ Scottish salmon rivers) and the estate’s catches of salmon and sea trout are amongst the most prolific in Scotland.
Nearby Spey Bay, 4 miles, is home to the National Whale and Dolphin Centre and is a wonderful area for spotting many species of wildlife including minke whales, bottlenose dolphins, ospreys, seals and much more. There are spectacular views over the sea towards the mountains of Caithness from the long shingle beach, and the world famous Spey Bay Golf Club is at the other end. For walkers, the Speyside Way passes close by and runs from Buckie on the shore of the Moray coast to Aviemore. The Whisky Trail is also nearby.
