Outstanding scenery is to be enjoyed by all at Resipole Farm, which lies just 300 yards from the shores of Loch Sunart, a stunning location in the wild West Highlands of Scotland. Expect exceptional wildlife, and quite probably the most fun you’ve ever had, in this stunning location on a working farm, where cattle graze peacefully in ancient oak woods designated a Special Area of Conservation. Expect, too, one of the greenest holiday spots you will find anywhere.
Resipole has gained a special award from Professor David Bellamy for protecting and enhancing the natural environment, and eco-friendly attitudes prevail throughout this special environment. Three generations of the Sinclair family have now run Resipole Farm, and between them they have planted hundreds of trees on the park and surrounding hillsides, creating a habitat in which numerous plants and animals thrive including deer, red squirrels, bats, badgers and pine martens. The lodges sit in a quiet area to the rear of a small beautifully maintained caravan and camping park and the resident wildlife often steal up to take a cheeky peek while you are enjoying the views from your verandahs. Excellent amenities include a small shop, a private slipway for boats and canoes, whilst moorings are available by arrangement with the owner. On-site are Resipole Fine Art Studios, where you can view exclusive and ever-changing exhibitions throughout the year.
Further afield, mainland Britain’s most westerly point is home to Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. You can explore the beautiful white sandy beaches at Sanna Bay, and the wonderful wildlife exhibition and café at Ardnamurchan Natural History Centre is worth stopping at. Catch the foot ferry from nearby Salen to Tobermory on the Island of Mull, or there is a regular car ferry from Kilchoan to Tobermory. The beautiful islands of Rum, Eigg, Canna and Skye can be reached by ferry crossings from the small fishing port of Mallaig, or Kentra Bay, and the Singing Sands at Gortenfern are stunning. Glenfinnan Viaduct (as depicted in the Harry Potter movies) and the Glenfinnan monument are worth visiting, whilst Fort William, Glencoe and Oban are also accessible. The Resipole recipe is to offer everything that guests could want for a relaxed and enjoyable holiday and to make sure they go home feeling refreshed! Beach 12½ miles. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant 2¾ miles.
Willow can be booked together with Hawthorn (ref UK7002), Oak (ref UK7003) and Birch (ref UK7004) to accommodate up to 18 guests.
