Had a very enjoyable stay at Rhumbor. Very relaxing family get together. House very clean and has everything one could wish for including an excellent hot tub that was well maintained. Sheets and linen were cleaned after one week. Garden was well cared for. Enjoyed all the games and the Billards table alot. Kitchen was abit small for 8 of us but thats to be expected in an old house and wasnt a problem. Enjoyed the walks especially the squirrel walk a mile down the road. We went to Oban and Inveraray which were very pretty and interesting. We especially enjoyed eating at the Inver restaurant and also the Samphire seafood restaurant. We went to the Village inn pub couple times which had ok food. I walked up Ben Lomond but was further than I thought. We also did a boat trip to the loch Lomond islands and the Girls went horse riding nearby.

A beautiful house in a stunning location. Stylish interior decor with wonderful views over Loch Goil. The only downside was the small poky kitchen which was not in keeping with the rest of the house.

We came to Rhumhor as a group of weary mums and left feeling mostly like we wanted to say for longer (would forever have worked?) and also like we had had a wonderfully relaxing, fun break. The house itself is simply not done justice in the photos. It is huge. And gorgeous. So very gorgeous. There is plenty of space for chatting and relaxing, for dining together, for games, for TV. Bedrooms are spacious and two bathrooms means no queuing. The kitchen is a small scullery affair so limited fridge space, but it is far better equipped than even our own homes. We had use of the hot tub which was wonderful and the views from both the tub and the front rooms of the house are stunning. We saw some of the most striking rainbows. There are plenty of walks in the area, with the hills behind the house criss-crossed with trails. Lochgoilhead isn't far, but don't rely on it to refill your supplies as it has limited of its own! Emma was brilliant at staying in touch to make sure we arrived okay and had no issues. The house is littered with 'how to' information and user guides. Really handy. We are already making plans to come back as Rhumhor has such a special feeling to it.

Loved Rhumhor house, only negative was the owners advertising it as a 5 bedroom house, then changing it to a 4 before our break. Disappointing as our party required 5 bedrooms. When we got there, the single bedroom was locked.

We stayed at Rhumhor House in October – with our two children (13 and 12 year olds). A lovely, large but cosy house with a huge family room at the rear – which had lots of seating and a pool table. There were a few lovely treats awaiting our arrival too – which was a very thoughtful touch. We had arranged an ASDA delivery for the evening we arrived – which was an extremely good idea – as the supermarkets are quite a distance (Hence marking 8 for 'local amenities'). However, there is a small shop located a short drive away. Rhumhor is situation near the water side and has its own private beach area with a picnic table for you to sit out and look at the amazing views. We had use of the private hot tub, which had a water change before our arrival and was maintained throughout our stay, by a local chemist. We didn’t let the wet and windy weather put us off. We wore our wellies and enjoyed collecting shells from the beach and conkers from the Horse Chestnut tree in the garden. We visited Inverary Jail and Tobermory (aka Balamory). We enjoyed meals out and picnics on the nearby beaches. To top off our stay, we stopped off at Loch Lomond to have a ride on their Sea Plane. Amazing views. Emma and Euan, the home owners, have been brilliant with us and very responsive via text messages. We left our Bluetooth speaker there, by mistake. I liaised with Emma and she packaged it up and posted it out for us. What a star!!! We were very happy with our stay.
