The foot ferry to Padstow runs all day in high season from Rock beach.
River View Villa is perfectly positioned between the historic fishing port of Padstow, where you can sample Rick Stein’s fish and chips, and picturesque Port Isaac of Doc Martin fame, both within a 20-minute drive. For the more adventurous, there is mountain biking at Llanhydrock and Cardinum Woods near Bodmin (20-minute drive). Take a hike along the famous Cornish Coast path, taking in the views and scenery of The Rumps, Pentire Point or Stepper Point. Or tramp up to Rough Tor, the highest point in Cornwall, on Bodmin Moor, starting just outside Camelford.
There is a huge variety of great eateries within walking distance at Wadebridge, and locally by car. For those interested in fine dining, there are plenty of well known chefs to get your tastebuds tingling! Nathan Outlaw at Port Isaac, Paul Ainsworth at No 6 and Caffe Rojano, and Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant in Padstow. There is also the St Enadoc Hotel Restaurant and The Dining Room in Rock, and The Scarlet Restaurant at Mawgan Porth.
There is always plenty to see and do whatever the weather. Whether a trip to the English Heritage site of Tintagel Castle takes your fancy or the biomes of The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Helligan or the National Trust site of Llanhydrock near Bodmin.
