The cottage also has the added attraction of a picturesque  unfenced pondside garden which attracts an abundance of wildlife throughout the year. Although the pond is probably only about one foot in depth, young children must be strictly supervised at all times whilst in the garden. The only route through the hamlet is by footbridge which is adjacent to the cottage and with no through traffic, offering a truly peaceful location. Langcliffe is approximately 1 mile from the busy market town of Settle, with an outdoor market held each Tuesday. Settle offers a host of shops, Booths Supermarket, a good selection of pubs and eating places, swimming pool/leisure centre and of course home to the famous Settle/Carlisle railway line. Riverside Cottage is perfectly positioned for the outdoor enthusiast with an abundance of walks direct from the door. Also handy for exploring the surrounding area where Malham Cove and Malham Tarn can be found some 8 miles away.

Lovely location on the river ribble ,two fab walks from the door step , easy access to amazing places to visit . Cottage could do with minor tlc ,knobs on cupboards tightening ,baking trays , carpet on stairs tacked down . This did not distract from the amazing place it is .

Loved it! Beds comfy, great spot for Settle and beyond, can walk into town or to Stainforth for the pub and can drive out to various places on different routes for the best Dales experience. The cottage kitchen is well equipped, and nice there’s a few bits left in the cupboard.

We had a lovely time at Riverside cottage. The area is beautiful and you can do some lovely walks from the doorstep. It is great having the river so close and so pretty. The cottage is charming and well equipped. The only things missing were a second toilet and a dishwasher but these are perhaps not possible due to the age of the house. Some of the cupboards need some repair with handles loose. I would recommend it though and would stay again. The price was excellent!

The cottage is well placed in a quiet lane next to the river. t was canard comfortable without being too smart such that you couldn't relax. The riverside terrace spend to a fabulous view of the river and we enjoyed spotting wagtails, mallards and an occasional view of a heron. We were next to a footbridge which meant that walkers could see us when sat on the terrace but that wasn't a problem. The neighbour in the cottage next to us was very friendly. The pond side garden felt secluded and gave a respite from the sun in the afternoon. There was a walk in very direction from the cottage on either side of the river with some stunning scenery. The Craven Heifer pub in Saidforth was worth a visit, as was the church in Langcliffe village. The Victoria cave, waterfall and Lime Kilns too were all very worth while walking to. Settle is pretty and gave us enough to do on our one rainy day. There were some board games in the cottage and paperback books.

We enjoyed staying at the cottage, the location couldn' t have been nicer and we all enjoyed the coal fire we laid on two occasions. We had a couple of problems. The smoke alarm in the lounge started beeping every evening which was annoying. I did report it. The extractor fan in the bathroom was operated by a sensor located nearly above the toilet. It looked like a security camera that are found in some shops and made me feel most uncomfortable when using the facilities. Other than these we enjoyed our week and were very lucky with the weather

We thoroughly enjoyed Riverside Cottage and its environs. We were under the impression that there would be fuel for burning in the fireplace but it wasn’t even enough to get us started on our arrival the first night. I’m not a fan of electric hob cooking so it took some time to get accustomed to that. Beds were very comfortable with crisp white sheets.

Pleasant enough stay. Once the lack of coal logs etc had been resolved by supplying these items the day after our arrival it was a cosy cottage with good views of the river etc with the sighting of a duck from Russia.

We were left with a couple of drops of washing up liquid to last all week. There was no washing up bowl. There was no starter pack of logs etc for the fire although stated on the paperwork and it was October. Shower curtains orange with mould.....need replacing. Horrid smell when door of microwave was opened. Bathroom window doesn’t shut so very cold to bathe. The mattress on main bed was very uncomfortable. On the plus side the location was brilliant.
