This is lovely but needs updating, needs a good clean. The busy road its on isnt great and the speed of vans, lorries down the little track right in front (goes to some builders yard) is ridiculous, it was just ok

This was the second time we've stayed at Riverside Lodge, and it was just as good as the first time. A beautiful old house set in Derbyshire countryside, you just feel the stress drop away as soon as you arrive. It is great if you have a dog, as it has a large enclosed garden and plenty of walks on the doorstep. I hope we can visit again :)

Good location if you want to visit the Peak District, it's only about 10 minute drive from Matlock Bath. Although it is adjacent to a main road the cottage is set well back and we never really heard the traffic or felt that it imposed on our cottage. Parking is very good as there is a decent sized lay by adjacent to the cottage which is hardly used and enough on site parking for at least two cars. The cottage itself is quite quaint with original features and a nice wood burning fire. There is a small caffe just access the road which is great if you don't fancy cooking or Matlock Bath has lots of cafes to visit too. There is a good size patio area for barbecues and a lawned garden too. The Greyhound Hotel at Cromford (about 5 minutes in a car) is a really nice relaxed place to have a drink or evening meal. Would we stay again.......Definitely.

This was a nicely situated, homely and comfortable cottage. We spent a great week there and the dog loved it also, having a fairly large garden to investigate. The only slight down side was that the lounge was a bit dark which more lamps would cure and there was a slight lack of power points, particularly upstairs, but we would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
