Excellent week. Everything we would have wanted for a family holiday. Beautiful cottage. Only downside, one pub closed, one being decorated and Richard III looked dirty and the food was not good. This has no reflection on the cottage we would still come back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay at Rose Cottage, it is renovated and equipped to a high standard. My only problem as a light sleeper was the noise generated from the road, so much so after two nights of not a lot of sleep, my husband and I were in the attic room, I slept on the sofa bed in the snug which is at the rear of the property and enjoyed uninterrupted sleep. Middleham is a lovely village, we enjoyed the local pubs, a tour of the castle and watching the local race horses heading to and from the gallops. Leyburn too is lovely and worth exploring. The Forbidden Corner is a wonderful day out although maybe not for really young children. Overall we had a wonderful week.

This is a fabulous cottage in a great location. It was exceptionally well equipped with all fixtures and fittings being of a really high standard. The cottage was extremely comfortable. Middleham is a great location for walks straight from the door, and ideally placed for visiting Wensleydale and the surrounding area.

The cottage was one of the best properties we have stayed in over the last couple of years. It was a beautiful, the decor was pleasing and so welcoming ! The owners had thought of everything, right down to the security torches and the Bose speaker in the kitchen. We were a party of six who go away a couple of times a year and we all decided it was by far the best and to top it all, was in walking distance to the pub Richard 111 which serve excellent food ! We wouldn’t hesitate to book this cottage again
