Welcome pack. Enclosed courtyard with patio and garden furniture. On road parking. No smoking.\n This attractive terraced stone cottage is set in a quiet corner on the edge of Chapel-en-le-Frith outside the pretty village of Combs which appeals to walkers and has a lovely pubrestaurant. Located on the edge of the Peak District National Park the cottage is warm welcoming and deceptively spacious and is perfectly placed for exploring this beautiful part of the High Peak. Traditionally furnished with a homely feel this charming cottage has character beams and a cosy living room perfect for relaxing in whilst the front bedroom has a stunning view over Combs Reservoir. Outside is a quiet secluded courtyard area overlooking uninterrupted views of open countryside where you can sit and enjoy the sun.\nChapel-en-le-Frith means ‘Chapel in the Forest’ the ‘Chapel’ being the old Norman church which still stands in the market square with its original stocks. The forest has been replaced over the years by lovely old stone cottages. Market day is still Thursday but is no longer a cattle market The market place was filmed in the BBC drama ‘The Village’ where the Kings Arms featured as the old pub.\nThe Peak District is a paradise for walkers cyclists and climbers with fantastic walks and cycle trails from the doorstep Rose Cottage is within 5 minutes’ drive of Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve close to Edale and Hope Valley. For golfers Chapel-en-le-Frith has a beautiful 18-hole golf course less than a 10-minute walk away. Nearby attractions include Chatsworth House and Estate Castleton with its Blue John Mines and underground caverns accessible by boat famous Bakewell Ladybower Reservoir and Buxton Pavilion Gardens and Opera House. Children will love the Heights of Abraham and Gulliver’s Kingdom at Matlock Bath and the Tissington and Monsal Trails which are easy level paths along old railway tracks for walking or cycling bike hire is available. Public transport is very accessible from the property with a bus stop placed directly opposite the front of the house it is also on the Buxton-Manchester Airport route. Shop 2 miles pub and restaurant 500 yards. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/144/840/1448128.jpg UKC2307

really sweet little cottage, very clean and well stocked with everything we needed. I even met the neighbours who were lovely too! Only comment would be that the parking isn't brilliant as on a main road. this didn't worry us, but may do if your not very fast or have a young child. I would also add that the directions were really good until we got to Chapel en le Frith, when we couldn't find the Cottage as it implied it was nearer the Hanging gate pub than it was!

Lovely holiday. Cottage is on a busy road with no parking. Managed to park across the road, having to bump up a kerb on a grassy verge. Wardrobe in 2nd bedroom is too high to hang clothes. Just be aware of a pointy spindle coming off the stairs is in a place you could quite easily hurt yourself.

Just spent a lovely weekend at Rose Cottage. Highly recommend the Hanging Gate Pub which is just a 5 minute walk away. Rose Cottage is a lovely property with nice views and a good base for visiting places like Chesterfield, Matlock and Bakewell, which is a 'must visit' (30 minute drive). We will definitely return. Thank you.

Had the most amazing weekend, such a beautiful cottage, really needed a quiet break away and that’s exactly what we had. Thank you so much and can’t wait to book again

Lovely cottage. Well equipped and warm. Road noise was a problem, and the lack of suitable parking should be made clear when advertising. But overall, good value for money
