We had a wonderful stay in Rosemary Cottage. It’s a beautiful, spacious, cottage with a fabulous garden! It’s set in a very pretty village with several walks from the door. The garden was great for relaxing and family games, very secure for everyone, including our little dog. Plenty of space for 3 cars too. Great to have 3 pubs offering meals and 2 cafes all within a couple of minutes walk. The nearby river is super for children to enjoy, a little paddle and a fishing net and bucket amused them for hours. Thoroughly recommend both the house and area. One word of warning is the stairs are very steep, so this house might not be suitable for very young children. We found all areas clean on our arrival. However, when we went to use the oven and oven trays the oven was dirty and the trays were filthy. Fortunately I had a pan scrubber with me, or our dinner would have been ruined because I couldn’t have used the trays. I didn't use the oven again. I don’t imagine the cleaners who come in after guests have departed have time to check oven trays etc., but you would expect previous guests to have cleaned up things like that themselves.

Great house for a get together with family and friends. Easy to eat together but separate into smaller groups for various activities. 3 pubs in village, great walking and cycling- to other pubs- from the doorstep!

Fantastic warm and cosy cottage for a family holiday of 7 adults and a new born baby. Great walking from the door and all the (very) local pubs have their charms and offer a good choice of veggie options - as does the nice little cafe 'Zarina's'. Handy local shop meant a brisk morning stroll to fetch a paper to bring back to read in the extremely comfortablet bed with a cuppa and a view of the dales beyond. Thank you.

Great location with great walks and three pubs on the doorstep. A lovely comfortable property for 8 people with great parking (a premium in Kettlewell) . Very comfy beds and small but well equipped kitchen. Only things we’d recommend for a10 rating in future are a wi fi booster in the kitchen area as that where we wanted to plan our days and kids doing homework, and a small welcome pack with a pint of milk would have been welcome as local shop shuts at 5 and our delivery was after 6! All in all a fabulous week.

We enjoyed Kettlewell and the King's pub. The other pubs weren't as cosy with no fires like the other villages we visited. We were expecting at 4 stars to at least have a welcome pack but there wasn't one. The place was comfy though we had an issue with the shower leaking through a light fixture into the lounge. After many e-mails and phone calls someone eventually came and fixed it though it never drained very well and you showered in a slippery puddle. Some of the lights were out and the grass hadn't been cut in at least a month. We asked but they said they can't cut the grass when it is wet. We have properties in Scotland and we would end up cutting the grass about once a year if that was actually true. One of our kids stepped in dog pooh in the garden and we never did figure out where it was. We had good signal in the lounge but it was lost in any other part of the house. We really enjoyed our visit to the Yorkshire Dales and all the afternoon teas and walks just wish there was a bit more attention to detail in the cottage. We laughed when we looked at the guest book as many pages had been torn out as if they negative ones were ripped out. Also, they replaced the oven with a new one but left the old one sitting in the garden again, no real attention to detail. And lastly there are some precariously loose slates hanging over the outside seating area so I was reluctant to sit on it the very old garden furniture. It is a shame really as with a bit of tlc it could be a beautiful property!

We had a lovely week staying at Rosemary cottage. The cottage was very clean and comfy and had everything we needed for our stay. The large secure garden was perfect for our dog.

Cooker oven not working properly. No access to central heating controls , so cottage quite cold , had to rely on log fire . Second double bedroom had no wardrobe. One of the only cottages we have stayed in with no welcome pack , milk would of been helpful. We put all these issues in visitor book and noticed these problems have been mentioned on numerous occasions.
