The Forest of Bowland was once described as the ‘Switzerland of England’, and covering 312 square miles means ample walking, riding, and cycling is available nearby. The location is also convenient for exploring both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks which can be reached in around an hour. For those with children Blackpool with its many attractions and the coastal resorts of Lytham St Annes are just over a 30-minute drive.
Locally the ancient market town of Garstang is a mere 5-minute drive and home to a wide range of independent shops, restaurants, pubs, and supermarkets. It’s also a great starting point for a diverse range of walking routes including The Wyre Way which passes through the town. Other attractions and places of interest within a 30-minute drive include the heritage city of Lancaster, Williamson Park, Cobble Hey family run farm and the classic English seaside resort of Morecambe Bay.
