    Kitchen: With electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, dishwasher and coffee maker.
    Utility room: With washing machine and tumble dryer.
    Bedroom 1: With king size bed and 40" smart TV.
    Bedroom 2: With zip and link twin beds (which can be made to super king size bed, please advise when booking) and TV.
    Bathroom: With shower over bath, WC and heated towel rail.

    All electric, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and highchair available. Wi-Fi.

    Car park (foc). No smoking. Please note: This property has a security deposit of £100.

    This lovely penthouse apartment provides comfortable and spacious accommodation for two to four people in one of the Lake District’s prime village locations.     A top-floor apartment in the heart of the Lake District should have outstanding views, and Russet Eaves does not disappoint; the panorama from the lounge window, out across Grasmere’s village green towards Silver Howe, is captivating. One can sit for hours in the window seat here, watching the ever-changing scenery and the comings and goings of the visitors and locals below. The view from the kitchen is possibly even better, looking northwards over woods and fields to Helm Crag and its famous summit rocks, the Lion and the Lamb.
    Grasmere is the ideal location for any visitor to the Lakes; walkers will find a range of outstanding walks in every direction, from gentle river and lakeside strolls, through pleasant woodland and valley outings, up to full high mountain expeditions - all of which can be planned in comfort on the specially made map-top coffee table in the lounge, which features the OS 1:25 000 map of the Lake District, centred on the apartment. What’s more, the local bus service stops alongside the village green, allowing an even wider range of walks to and from the door to be undertaken without the use of a car. Less energetic guests, or those in need of a rest day, will enjoy wandering the beautiful village of Grasmere itself, with its wide variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.
    The ground floor of the building houses Sam Read’s famous bookstore and Lucia’s Takeaway Coffee Shop, while alongside the village green are a further selection of cafes and shops. Fifty yards or so in the other direction are a newsagent and a convenience store, open from early till late and extremely useful for groceries and other essentials.
    So whether you are looking for a cosy hideaway in which to relax and admire the spectacular Lakeland scenery, or a base for walking adventures in Britain’s best-loved mountains, Russet Eaves has everything you need for a holiday to remember.

    Located in one of the most wonderful places in the Lake District. Hiking trails, the bus stop, pubs and shops are near. The flat is well equipped and spacious. There was some trouble with the warm water supply in the shower, but the host promised to change it. Can recommend the flat.

    A very well equipped apartment in a great location. Very quiet at night despite being so central. The only minor negative is not being able to park outside the apartment but we knew this before booking so were prepared.

    I absolutely love Russet Eaves it is in a fantastic location and has everything you could wish for it really feels like a home from home and everything is of a really high standard.

    Love the cottage but had trouble with electricity, as in system tripped and had no electricity on day of arrival. Next day(Saturday) electrician came at lunchtime and could only do a temporary fix, which meant we had no oven until Monday. Therefore low rating for equipment and value for money.

    We really enjoyed our stay in Grasmere and in Russet Eaves for the second time. unfortunately we could not get the shower to work properly. we had warm water on two days out of our four day stay. This was very disappointing as everything else about the stay was excellent.

    Great home from home in the heart of Grasmere, opposite the main bus stop and shops, pubs, restaurants on the doorstep. Two flights of steps up.....so no good for people with walking difficulties and need watch out for the low ceilings/beams. But really well equipped with everything you need. LM, Sheffield
