A lovely cosy cottage for a mid week break and meet up with family members, ideally located for this reason and to explore the area not visited before. Cottage had everything we needed & visited the time of year when it was cool enough to enjoy the warmth of the wood burner in the evening. Lovely hosts and enjoyed watching the wildlife in the garden and along the river. Eggs, honey, jams and chutneys available to buy from the farm. Cider from the nearby Cider Farm. Castles to visit nearby Skenfrith and Goodrich. We had a lovely visit.

A lovely little cottage, perfect for the two of us for a weekend. The location is wonderful, and the owner wonderfully open about allowing guests to wonder the garden and the river, such a beautiful garden! All the inside rooms a nicely decorated, and very comfortable - no criticisms at all. A sign by the little barrow selling honey would have been nice though, took us far too long to find the place - primarily our incompetence admittedly! All in all a stunning little place, in a wonderful secluded location in the heart of the beautiful Welsh countryside - the perfect retreat - just wish we could have stayed longer

Kind, helpful and discrete owners. New building. But future guests must be aware to the fact that the cottage is clearly too small for four adults (no storage closet in the twin bedroom, access to shower cubicle difficult if you are a bit oversize for example...). Probably excellent for two to three people and for a short stay: no local amenities to the exception of a pub in Skenfrith, must drive long way to buy groceries, for example (Monmouth, Ross, Abergavenny...). Nevertheless, Skenfrith is well situated on the map (Wye Valley, Brecon Beacons, Cadw properties, Hay on Wye...) Overall cleanliness a bit disappointing. Also disappointed by the fact that some of the features proposed on the website were absent (Freeview TV performs badly, intermittent Wifi, TV in main bedroom not working, DVD player only in bedroom, mould smell in washing machine and, unfortunately for us, a defective dishwasher (oddly situated in the barn below): this was discussed with owners. For the rest, very quiet and peaceful surroundings.
