Location was fantastic and we had a great time despite the weather. Just felt the lodge could benefit from a little TLC.

The lodge is in a quiet setting with terrific views of the hills around. No problem getting to the main tourist centres like Aviemore and Elgin. Had a great break.

This was a lovely cosy lodge in a fantastic location. However on arrival the lodge was freezing cold. The heating is by way of storage heaters and these need to store the previous night to provide heat the next day. As the caretaker knew the date and time of our arrival we would have hoped they would have been switched on. The cleanliness of the property was not good. The windows were filthy and so looking at the view was marred. The bathrooms were not clean, especially the showers. The oven was dirty. The dining room table/table mats were encrusted with crumbs! Superficially the place looked clean and tidy but in fact it was not. The carpet was stained and we did not go around barefoot because of this. The bin in the kitchen looked as if it had never been cleaned. We were so disappointed with the cleanliness standard because overall the lodge was perfect for what we wanted.

We stayed at Saffron lodge over the New Year and had an amazing stay. The lodge is very cosy and comfortable with the wonderful woodland backdrop. Perfect for us to rest and relax. A little isolated but we knew this and were happy with the location. A beautiful lodge with all amenities you could need. A welcome bottle of wine thrown in was the perfect touch on arrival.

A lovely cottage with everything we needed. I wouldn't recommend if you don't have a car as the location is quite remote but that was exactly what we were looking for.

A lovely cosy cottage well appointed and in a lovely setting. Only down side lack of wifi, in today modern world all things work online. But if you want to get away from the 24/7 connectivity of the world this is a brilliant place.
