NB The garden is steep in places and there are 7 steps with handrail to terrace near back door.\n This pleasant terraced cottage is the ideal holiday base 300 yards from a glorious beach with coastal walks and excellent for dog walkers. The Swan Leisure Centre is close by and Spittal is only one mile south of Berwick famous for its salmon-rich River Tweed. This is England’s borderland described as the Secret Kingdom - contained to the west by the wild lonely beauty of the Cheviot Hills and Northumberland National Park to the east by stunning Heritage Coast with miles of beaches and interesting ornithologial areas. Visit the Farne Islands Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle. Shop and pub 200 yards restaurant ½ mile. \n " W8691

    The couch was too small and uncomfortable. The bathroom sink and kitchen sink were dirty. Overall decor of the house dated in the 1970's. The double bed mattress would have been too hard for 2 people sleeping in the bed. Manageable for 1 person.

    Sea Cottage is a 2 bed cottage, sleeping 3 people. The lounge furniture consists of a 2 seater sofa (really small and is really only suitable for 1 adult), a hard rocking chair and 1 armchair. If you want to socialise (we were up in Berwick visiting family) there isn't any room for more than 2 or 3 people. The cottage also has no wifi, so you will use a lot of data if staying for a week or two. The cottage would benefit from wifi being installed. The double bed in the main bedroom is very low to the ground and wasn't particularly comfortable. When turning over in bed it felt like the bed was about to break. The owners would definitely benefit from buying a new double bed. The overall look of the inside of the cottage is quite dated and would benefit from being redecorated and smelt a little musty upon arrival. We did enjoy our stay, but would have enjoyed it a bit more if the things mentioned above were updated.

    The accomodation was dirty the bin in the kitchen had the previous renters food waste & stunk of fish. Cobwebs in basin & jug in bedroom, spiders behind tv. Smelled of dampness. The place badly needs cleaned & updated. Had trouble trying to get in to property as both yale & mortice locks need renewed.

    Parts of the cottage were in need of refurbishment. Although most well presented some could have done with a deep clean.

    house basic, comfortable, clean; lovely big well-equipped kitchen; sitting room cold (even in a heatwave it never got any sun so we mostly sat in the kitchen with the back door open); amazing steep garden - sea view from very top! street parking OK, usually a space nearby; 1 mile to Berwick but very pleasant walk.

    Had a good time, but trouble getting in as the door entry code was incorrect and had to phone twice before the caretaker came to let us in. Also the rooms were cold as central heating was switched off. On the plus side we enjoyed the improvements in the garden.
