Colwell Bay is a sand and shingle beach on the western shore of the Isle of Wight... From the beach and promenade there are excellent panoramic views of the mainland, including views of Hurst Castle on the Hampshire/Dorset border. This is a popular family beach, with a traditional seaside café just before you reach the beach, and beach hut shops on each side of the slipway selling everything from ice-creams and snacks to inflatable toys and wet suits. If you are looking to make a day of it you can hire deck chairs and beach huts from the beach shop. On the road down to the shore there is a bar, plus if you walk along the sea wall to the left you will find a bistro style restaurant.
