Enclosed courtyard with sitting-out area. Bike store. On road parking. No smoking. \n\n Ideal for year-round breaks this modest and charming mid-terraced quarryman’s cottage built in 1860 is located just off the centre of town. Seagulls has an area set aside to experience traditional games such as Victorian billiards pub skittles bagatelle and tiddlywinks etc the kids will love it.\n\nThe area is still relatively undiscovered and rests in an Area of Natural Beauty. Go left out of the front door and within 3 minutes you are on Newry Esplanade with its variety of little sandshingle beaches and rock pools. If you are coming with a dinghycanoe you can launch directly off the beach. Perhaps enjoy a picnic or ice cream in the sunken gardens. This is a great spot for walkers with the beautiful Breakwater Country Park and Holyhead Mountain at the end of the esplanade. You may be lucky and spot seals and encounter the semi wild Welsh ponies along the coastal path. There are some wonderful walks over to the North and South Stacks famous for its light house and RSPB reserve where you can get a birds eye view of the cruise ships that come to visit Holyhead from around the world.\n\nTurn right out of the front door and you will come to the town with its selection of quaint shops and eateries. Off the high street is a bridge that will take you to the railway station and port for a day trip to Dublin where you can visit Molly Malone. 3 minutes away is a children’s indoor play area so you can back and enjoy a coffee while the kids let off steam. \n\nA major draw every year is Holyhead Festival which takes place during the last weekend of July. People come from all over the UK to watch the live performances and the Majorettes. Straddling this weekend is also a funfair that lasts for a fortnight where you can become a teenager again and have some real fun. The artist Howard Marriott once lived here and many of his paintings adorn the walls at Seagulls.\n\nA little further afield Anglesey is home to a host of visitor attractions including a Butterfly Palace Anglesey Sea Zoo and Snowdonia with its myriad of exciting activities. There are many castles nearby and of course in our opinion some of the best beaches in the world such as Trearddur Bay Porth Dafarch and Treaeth Cymyran. Beach 500 yards. Shop pub and restaurant 500 yards. " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/106/840/10681400.jpg UK10776

Seagulls is a perfect base for walkers, who would like to use public transport. It is located in the centre of Holyhead with shops, restaurants, a bus stop and the train station close by. We walked the spectacular coastal path all around Holy Island in February 2020. Charming Seagulls was our temporary home. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely couple , cottage clean and tidy but dated. Not sure about the artwork on the walls, a bit dark in style. Good base for holiday.

    out of 10

Basic accommodation with very basic facilities. Useful as a base for exploring Anglesey although the location doesn’t really add to a holiday experience.
