What an amazing week. We had a fabulous time at Shaw House. A lovely farm cottage on a working farm. (Despite the dreadful weather, rain or mist most days), we would all choose to stay there again. Great location. Well equipped and maintained. Huge cottage and garden. Beautiful walks on the farm. Terry the owner was very kind and welcoming, he showed us round the farm and we loved seeing how the lambs were growing daily (we stayed in April) 10 min drive to Alton Towers. We also did a day trip to Buxton and Poole Cavern which we all enjoyed. Happiest times were walking on the farm, and in the cottage or garden with our children and the extensive children's toys available within the cottage. The children have all asked if we can return and not visit Alton Towers but spend more time on the farm or in the local area which we were unable to get into much as it was so wet. Thanks so much Terry we hope to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at the farm. Terry was very welcoming and nothing was to much. Only a few minutes drive from Alton Towers and the town of Cheadle. The cottage was traditional and very roomy and my 2 girls loved playing with the toys and in use garden. It was a great value get away. Thank you Terry for making us welcome

An excellent choice for a family holiday. Safe enclosed garden, near to lots of local amenities and attractions. The Ramblers Retreat at Dimmimgsdale is a must-visit. Alton Towers only a few miles away and near to the Churnet Valley Railway. Big rooms, planty of kitchen and living/dining space.

The cottage had a bad stench of cigarette smoke which was embedded into the curtains and settee and carpet. Ceiling looked like ot was going to fall in, There were 2 ajoining doors leading to the owners part of the house which I was unaware of. Cottage was not cleaned properly , bathroom not at all. I cried the first night i hated it my younger kids 4 & 6 seem to not notice. Terry was pleasent his mother never even bother to introduce herself, never saw her once the whole time. Was very surprised as i looked at other reviews. Would definitely visit Staffordshire again but not at Shaw House Staffordshire is a beautiful place with lots for the kids to do. The monkey park and Gladstone Pottery Museum were great, a must visit.
