Children will love the Northumberland Zoo which is only ½ mile or within walking distance for those who enjoy walking. Burgham Park Golf course is only ½ mile, ideal for golfers in the family. Warkworth is a lovely village with a hillside castle, bespoke shops and little cafes. Nearby Alnwick is home to the Duke and Duchess where you can visit the majestic castle used in some Harry Potter scenes, perhaps have a broomstick lesson (in season) or visit the Duchess’ enchanting water gardens then meander the streets soaking up the history.
Nearby Morpeth is a very pretty, historic market town with some wonderful bars and restaurants and an Edwardian shopping arcade to explore as well as river boats down on the river Wansbeck. Nearby Felton has an award-winning café and a friendly pub serving food and drinks. Set close to the A1 means you can travel in all directions going somewhere different every day, have a day over at Hadrian’s Wall exploring in the Roman forts and glorious countryside or perhaps a day trip to the Dark Sky International National Park would appeal, or maybe even some retail therapy in Newcastle where you can enjoy the quayside and culture of the streets and buildings.
