A lovely cottage in a brilliant location (6 steps to the nearest pub, which has great food and beer!). We stayed with my parents who are in their 70’s, the stairs are steep, but it adds to the character of the cottage. Would definitely look to stay there again, a great property in the heart of Whitby.

We were very happy on the whole with the cottage, but felt it could perhaps do with a freshen up decoration wise. A lick of paint would make all the difference. We had a really good weekend based there, and I don’t think anyone felt there was anything missing.

Such a beautiful little cottage right in the middle of Whitby - we couldn’t have asked for a better location or more comfortable place to stay.

Very good cottage...all amenities provided. Only downside is very steep stairs but just one of the issues with lovely old cottages. Will be back!

A lovely little cottage, me and my mate visit Whitby every year and always book Smugglers. It's very handy for the town centre and right opposite a really nice pub that does great simple food. A bonus is that you can take your dog as well, only a very small yard for outside space but green space and of course the beach are only a 10 minute walk away

This was our second visit to Smuggler's Cottage. Location is excellent - the No1 Restaurant 'Ditto' is virtually across the road. The Whalebones are round the corner and a pub across the road (Granby). Short walk downhill into town. We will be booking again for next year.
