Right in the centre of Southsea, this flat is a great location for exploring this vibrant city! This is an ideal base for couples and families looking for a holiday on the South Coast in Southsea. The Victorian seafront boasts a funfair and leisure complex, large open green spaces perfect for picnics, plus Canoe Lake, splash and play parks and even a spot of kite flying to keep the children entertained. There is also a hovercraft that runs daily from the beach to the Isle of Wight. Southsea Castle is well worth a look, and the tropical marine life at the Blue Reef Aquarium is a great day out come rain or shine.
During the Summer months you can enjoy a whole host of family-friendly events on the common such as the Victorious music festival, the annual International Kite Festival, Portsmouth Pride and regular music events at Southsea Bandstand. Guildhall Wall is a short walk, which often holds food and drink festivals outside the Guildhall steps and an ice rink in the winter. The Guildhall itself hosts a variety of big-name concerts and events. You will also find the New Theatre Royal in the area, a small but beautiful Victorian theatre that puts on an array of productions, comedy and experiences throughout the year. A little further is Commercial Road, a large shopping precinct.
Nearby attractions include Portsmouth Historic Dockyard featuring HMS Victory and the Mary Rose Exhibition and The D-Day Museum. Should you wish to adventure a little further, why not board the hovercraft at Southsea and take a day trip over to Ryde with a unique 10-minute crossing across the Solent to the Isle of Wight? If you fancy exploring a little further afield there are regular trains from Portsmouth Harbour into London.
