Clubhouse with indoor heated swimming pool (18m x 12m, depth 0.8m to 1.2m, open 8am-9pm) with changing and shower facilities, hot tub for 8, sauna and gym (shared with other properties on-site). 9-hole golf course, children’s play area and sports hall with indoor tennis, squash courts, snooker, pool and Australian half tennis court (shared with other properties on-site). 2 dogs welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times within the resort grounds. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There is an unfenced pond in the grounds.

    Enjoying a quiet setting within Spey Valley, Aviemore Apartment makes the perfect base for exploring one of the most scenic and popular holiday destinations in Scotland. The Lodge, which overlooks the golf course, has been equipped and furnished to a very good standard to ensure as comfortable and relaxing holiday as possible, with your every need taken care of. Located towards the northern end of Aviemore and set on the banks of the River Spey, the resort offers an amazing range of amenities and activities right on your doorstep. There is a 9-hole golf course wrapped around the resort, and a championship 18-hole course is just a few minutes’ walk away. Within the clubhouse is an indoor swimming pool with hot tub, sauna and gym, and in the sports hall you will find indoor tennis, squash courts, snooker, pool and an Australian half tennis court. The dedicated leisure team will arrange some fantastic activities to keep the children happy which include arts, craft, pool games and sports, and there is also an outdoor children’s play area. A superb restaurant, where you can sample some of Scotland’s finest food, and a lounge bar serving snacks, light meals and afternoon tea can also be found by the side of the pool.
    Aviemore is situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at the head of the Speyside Way. The area boasts a good range of shops, restaurants and bars along with a very wide range of outdoor activities, including skiing, snowboarding, mountain and quad biking, climbing, hill walking, zorbing and a variety of water sports on nearby Loch Insh, Loch Morlich and the River Spey. Take a trip on the Cairngorm Mountain Railway, or visit the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, the RZSS Highland Wildlife Park at nearby Kingussie, or the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, which are all within easy reach. Further afield, take a trip to the beautiful west coast and the Isle of Skye. A day trip to the Orkney Islands is also well worth the effort.     Accommodation is good and the location is perfect. However, the hotel needs an overhaul in management as admitted by the staff on arrival when our apartment wasn't ready. Apparently a new manager is now in place so hope this improves things - the bar and kitchen also needs significantly improved management as it felt very disorganised, most of the staff didn't seem to understand basic requests and our bar meal took over an hour to come and was then over-cooked and luke warm.

    The only complaint we had was with a meal we were served in the resort restaurant. We checked in at 5pm and booked a meal for that evening. The fish and chips that we ordered were extremely disappointing. It was £15 a head - the chips were skinny frozen chips and the breaded haddock was tiny. When asked if we had enjoyed our meal we voiced our disappointment. A customer from another table, on noticing that we had complained, came over to say that they had also complained. We were offered a free dessert which we declined. The older head waiter agreed that the fish was ridiculously small and asked us to come in the following evening when we would be given staff discount on a drink. We did not do this. No recompense by a reduction on the bill was made and we paid the full amount. I would add that the waiting staff were very friendly and nice. We should have complained to management at the time but just left it, deciding that we would just not go back.
