Lovely cottage living up to its name. Warm and well kept. Great for local walks and for exploring Black Isle, Inverness, Loch Ness etc.

It was fantastic. Would recommend to anyone who would just like to get away and have peace and quite. Just be aware EE phone signal is very spotty and none at all in the cottage. No wifi either so communication with the outside world was a challenge. If this is what you want then it's perfect. I personally would go back again! Lots to do around the area if you would like days out.

Fantastic well equipped cottage. A little secluded but not far from the city of Inverness. Very clean. Lots of birds, red squirrels and other wildlife come to the various feeders the owner has out around the garden. The garden is fantastic and the owner let our two girls (8-10) go anywhere in her land exploring. Brilliant holiday and worth the 398 mile drive! 😀😀

Well named cottage. Spent most breakfasts watching the squirrels. Great cottage, great location if you like a little solitude. One of the most relaxing places you’ll find as the cottage is nestled amongst pines and fir trees. Within 5 mins of Inverness and a great base for exploring the highlands.

Cottage was in a pleasant and quiet location. Pretty much everything you needed on site was there - EG washing machine, fridge, TV, tumble dryer etc. We have a large car and parking was excellent next to the cottage. The cottage is only a few minutes drive from Inverness City which has excellent facilities as regards shopping, places to eat etc... The hosts offered to get basic provisions for us which was a kind offer. They also left carnations in the vase and a bottle of wine which was kind (although we don't drink). Communication with the host was via text and was easy although we never met the vendors. With light nights up north we noted the curtains in the bedroom didn't block out the light. So had to go and buy a travel blackout blind. Infact the curtains in the living room were better blackouts than those in the bedrooms which seemed the wrong way around. The decor of the property was a little dated and tired. I'm sure with a little time and effort the cottage could be updated and be more appealing. We knew there was no wi fi/internet which was the case but found it a little difficult not having this facility. We had to drive out for a mile or two to get a signal to read e mails and phone family/work as is the way with modern life. It could make the cottage more appealing if this were made available. Overall we would say the accommodation was of a fair standard compared to others we have used.

Second time at Squirrel cottage and its just as enjoyable, great location for exploring the Scottish highlands, spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need for your holiday stay, nice welcome pack of bread, butter and milk to get you started. There are 3 nice walks direct from the cottage, if you like walking and I can recommend the Allangrange Arms in Munlochy IV8 8NL for a nice meal ( 3 miles away). Mrs Thompson, the host, is a nice friendly Lady who welcomes you on arrival and then leaves you alone to get on with your holiday. I`m sure we will return again next year, all being well. Ps Loved the red squirrels and the birds feeding 5 metres away every day.

Lovely cottage, lovely and warm, and has everything you need. Watched red squirrels and different birds from the window. Local walks in forestry commission land. Short drive to Inverness for all you need but staying in woodland.
