In a superb location with fantastic views of the Perthshire countryside and mountains from every window, Sruan is the perfect location for friends and family to spend time together and explore the area. Struan is a semi-detached, bright and spacious holiday home situated in the small hamlet of Keltneyburn, between Aberfeldy and Kenmore. On the ground floor, the split level, open-plan living and dining area is a great space for guests to enjoy. The living area has large windows, cosy sofas and patio doors leading to the garden, and you can plan the next day’s activities around the dining room table. There is also a cosy corner for children to play in.

With good restaurants in both Kenmore and Aberfeldy, you might not have call to use the large, well-equipped kitchen which is fitted with a Redfyre range. The utility room leads off from the kitchen and is a good place to leave outdoor clothing and boots. The first floor has a family shower room (a baby bath is also provided), three large double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room and one has a super kingsize bed that can be made up into twin beds. All have lovely views, and you can lie in bed at night and watch the stars before drifting off to sleep. There is lots of outside space, with a west and south facing garden which can be a suntrap, and where guests can spend time enjoying the views.

This is an ideal spot for guests who enjoy the great outdoors, with riverside and woodland walks, cycling on quiet roads, several local golf courses and fishing in the local area. If you prefer a more strenuous activity, there is white water rafting, bungee jumping, mountain biking and mountains to climb, with seven Munros within 20 miles, including Ben Lawers (Perthshire’s highest mountain) and Schiehallion. The majestic Loch Tay offers sailing and boat trips, and at the head of the loch is the pretty village of Kenmore which is home to the oldest inn in Scotland. It also has a lochside beach, and the Croft na Caber Centre, which is a reconstruction of an Iron Age stilt dwelling built over the water and interesting to visit.

A great day out for all ages is a Highland safari, taking you up into the mountains where you can enjoy the scenery and spot the wildlife. Just a few minutes’ drive is the conservation village of Fortingall, with a 5000-year-old yew tree and an old church. For days out, the historic town of Aberfeldy has many local attractions including a park, local galleries, independent shops, coffee shops, restaurants, a book shop, a cinema and the Dewars Whisky Distillery, which offers tours and sampling. The Birks of Aberfeldy follows the river up into the hills and has been attracting visitors for many years, including the poet Rabbie Burns. Sruan is the perfect all year round holiday home, and a great location for enjoying a last minute getaway or gathering of friends and family in the great outdoors at the heart of highland Perthshire. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

Sruan is an excellent base for touring and walking in both Loch Tay, the Tay valley and Glen Lyon. It is also very close to the Cairngorms. The views from this spacious cottage are stunning. We would have given an overall 10 rating if we hadn't had to clean the lower windows ourselves to enjoy the views and if there had been some decent patio furniture. The patio area begs a pub-type / picnic bench. We enjoyed seeing red deer in the adjoining field and a sparrowhawk on the garden wall.

We didn’t enjoy Sruan much at all. Compared to other properties we have seen in the same price range - we found the property relatively unclean. Finding dirty socks in room cabinets, some of the cutlery and kitchen cupboards were unclean. Room windows with cobwebs in living room, kitchen - it was just not a good feeling at all. Wifi got interepted quite a few times as well. Bins were down the end of the street to put the trash instead at the property. Overall we didn’t had a good experience at all.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, great views of the Perthshire countryside. As we had great weather, it would have been good if there had been some garden furniture. But overall an excellent cottage and would highly recommend it.

Lovely comfortable cottage with great amenities and wonderful views - even a reasonably fast Broadband connection - a rarity in some rural areas. Only minor issues were no TV reception - not a problem for us oldies, but for a family might be an issue. The Aga proved a bit of a challenge - we couldn't seem to turn it off and when temperature outside reached 30+ degrees, it became unbearably hot in the kitchen and heat rose to bedroom above. Overall really great week with wonderful weather and a great place to stay

Very nice house. Should be clear before booking that dogs are not allowed upstairs or even in the living room overnight. Loads of cupboard space.

Breathtaking view from whichever window you happen to be looking out of. Remote, peaceful, many blissful moments of relaxation. Eventually you have to kick yourself out of the cottage to go and visit the birks of Aberfeldy. The cottage is in the center of the country with makes it an ideal place to start visiting Scotland.

Despite the size, the property heats up well. Very spacious, with excellent picture windows, very nice to return to and relax, of an evening, with an interesting selection of books. Very peaceful and quiet, and super watching the lambs playing. Nothing very close by, but plenty of shops (very good Co-op in Aberfeldy) and eateries a few miles away. Great location for access to the mountains, and very good too for road cycling. The beds are a little bit small, with not the best of mattresses. Rather annoying extractor fans. The range cooker was a novelty, and easy enough to use, but would imagine it provides too much heat in the warmer months. As it was, the (generously sized) kitchen was a bit tropical. Plenty of outdoor space, large if less than attractive patio. Didn't look like the garden had been attended to for months, which was a shame, as there are some lovely shrubs and flowers. Very little in the way of a welcome pack, so stop off at the Co-op on the way there! Sorry if this sounds rather negative - we did have a great time, and would consider returning.

Lovely spacious cottage in a beautiful setting and in a great location. Very quiet and tranquil despite the other properties in close proximity. It is a semi but you would never know it's just like a detached with a very nice garden and lovely views. It's a great base from which to see the fantasic area with lots of places to explore. Sadly there were faults which we found. The worst being that some of the furniture was just not up to standard. All the sofas in the lounge were far too low and uncomfortable....completely unsuitable for older guests or those with a bad backs...would be fine in a student let! The mish mash of dinning furniture was not good with a wobbly dinning table and really old uncomfortable chairs and one of the carver chairs was broken and could have been dangerous had we not realized before someone sat in it. The garden chairs outside were completely peeling of their paint and this left sharp jagged flakes detering anyone from attempting to sit on them. There was also a loose electric plug hole in the twin room and the plug hole in the small double room was completely hanging off the wall. The welcome pack was almost none existant, about the worst we have ever had, considering what we paid for our stay. Hate to sound negative as the house itself and the position is fantastic and we don't want to put people off visiting. The issues we have raised are all easily rectifiable and hopefully they will be and it will then be a perfect get away!

A lovely and spacious cottage in a quiet and peaceful location. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. The only drawback is that the garden area is very sloping.

Cottage so good I could live there! Very well designed and laid out. Good equipment. I've never cooked on an aga type cooker before and it was very easy, I liked it a lot. Apples and raspberries from the garden too! Perfect base for what we wanted to do - climb a couple of hills and visit Aberfeldy and it's area.
