• About St Andrew’s Church

Its secluded, wooded setting boasts lovely rural views, and the fascinating Wolds, Lincoln’s cathedral and castle, antique shops, nature reserves and the coast are easily accessible. Gunby Hall (NT) and Doddington Hall are both 15 miles. Shop and pub 1.5 miles.

This is a very unusual holiday experience; driving into a dark yew-shaded churchyard to be faced by rows of gravestones, and stumbling into the nave of a church is not the standard holiday cottage! However the conversion is sympathetic, and the 'cottage' is well equipped and comfortable. The drawbacks are implicit in the setup - basically it is one large room, with two large solid balconies with beds etc on each. The kitchen is in the former chancel area, sitting area in the middle and dining at the near end of the nave, as is the bathroom. Everything is solid and quite appropriate, although standing on a memorial stone while doing the washing up takes adjustment. It's a really lovely location, apple trees behind the church and a pond, sitting areas. The farm next door is not obtrusive, and the Old Rectory is close enough if one needs it but not bang on the doorstep. It's very quiet.

A lovely and charmingly converted property, with a peaceful atmosphere. Would have preferred clear glass and a couple more windows you could open. We had a some great times visitng the local area but a bit more guidance on finding places to walk the dogs would have been nice. We discovered wood nearby but only in the last couple of days.

We have stayed here quite a few times and each visit we have enjoyed very much. The couple who own this lovely church are very thoughtful with their gifts that they always leave. The owners leave you in peace and don't interfere which we love but we know if we ever have any problems they would help without a doubt.

We loved St Andrews! It’s isolated setting suited us - we like to be well away from other people. Such a unique building too, and reminded us of a Landmark Trust property but cheaper with comfortable furniture. The antique bed was quite high for me but I managed to climb into it every night and sleep very well in the dark and very quiet environs. The welcome gifts were a nice touch too. All in all a relaxing weekend to recharge the batteries! We will definitely think about revisiting for another short break.

Very unusual accommodation but lovely and comfortable and very well equipped. The owners left some really kind and thoughtful welcome gifts for us. The accommodation was not suitable for people with mobility issues.

Absolutely fab place to stay if one needs to get away from it all - lovely accommodation, lovely location, lovely routes to various points of interest be that bustling little market towns, the beautiful Wolds or along the glorious coast.

Great place to escape from modern life, but with all the gadgets you might expect. Thank goodness no internet. Secluded and private but you do need to shop before you come, unless you enjoy rides to the supermarket.

Lovely conversion with everything we needed. A lot of character and a great conversion. Was like a tardis with far more room than it appeared. The owners were great and left welcome treats! We would both be happy to return and great that it's been made available to pet owners.
