    Garden with patio and garden furniture. 1-acre grounds (shared with owner and another cottage). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: No children under 12 years old. There are 2 steps to the patio, and there is direct access to the loch shore 200 yards away.

    Just 200 yards from Loch Linnhe, this wonderful, detached bungalow overlooks the Glencoe Mountains, and has large patio doors looking out over the loch. You can enjoy pleasant walks along the shore or ramble in the adjacent private hillside. The owner lives on-site, and the property lies just 8 miles south of Fort William, making this an ideal holiday base from which to tour the surrounding area. Good eating places are within easy walking distance. There are opportunities to go fishing, sailing and surfing (bring your own equipment). Shop 400 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

    The bungalow was clean & well equipped, location was very good but near to a busy road. However we were hit with an excessively high bill for electricity at the end of the stay. The only electric appliance heating the bungalow was a storage heater in the livingroom. Could have used others but chose not to. Fail to see how we had used £29.40 worth of electricity within a week bearing in mind the owner informed us on arrival that he pays the first £10 making a total electricity use of £29.40. The owner stated that he had already read the meter prior to our arrival & then proceeded to read the meter on the Friday morning again without inviting us to join him, found this strange as we did not vacate the property until just before 10am on the Saturday morning. Sorry but I have suspicions here & therefore cannot recommend the property to anyone else.

    We had a lovely week, some rain but that’s to be expected. Stalker was perfect for our needs, very clean & comfortable with a fantastic view of the Loch and Glencoe. The owner was very friendly & helpful with local information. A perfect location for exploring the highlands. Just be aware of the midges/bugs in the summer months. We will definitely be going back.

    We had 3 problems. The photos on the website suggested the house stood alone, whereas there was an identical house 20' away from it, with no boundaries, which causes us problems with our dog as we couldn't relax outside. There was nothing in the information on the website that said dogs were not to be left in the cottage unattended (which was why we booked it as our dog is used to being left in our holiday cottages on very hot day, because in the summer it's dangerous to leave dogs in cars during the day), so it was disappointing to arrive and see a notice saying that dogs were not to be left unattended. Finally, the electicity. The website said the first £10 per week of electricity was free. We were only 2 people staying and we turned the heating off when we arrived as we didn't need heating and we ate out more than half of our holiday, so didn't think we'd used much electricity, so it was disappointing to be told that we owed over £18 for electricity we'd used over that £30 allowance for our 3 weeks. Overall the cottage is in a lovely setting, the view was tremendous, but for us we felt somewhat misled by the website's information. We would not have booked this had we known we were so close to another cottage without a boundary fence of some kind and that we would not be allowed to leave our dog in the cottage.

    We had a wonderful week, wonderful view from the living room. Friendly hosts. Far enough away from the main road, so as not to be disturbed. Close to the water. Hiking directly from the house is possible. The main street has a sidewalk. Smaller and older children can safely play around the house. A nice place to come back.

    Issues about electricity bills as soon we got there was detrimental to the enjoyment of the stay. The proprieters should ensure the advertised price is sufficient to include normal usage of electricity, as heating, lighting, and hot water all depend on it.
