Please note There is a water feature in the garden.\n\n Step inside this stunning former railway station with its historical background and just try to imagine how it was to have the sounds and smells of a steam train passing through the sandstone platforms one of which still remains in the back garden running the full length of the property. The current owner has sympathetically restored this detached property to a tasteful modern day standard with light airy spacious accommodation over two floors. The ground floor has a large living room with welcoming wood burner perfect to sit and relax in front of whilst enjoying a movie on the large screen TV. Just off the living area is a bunk bedroom which is handy for you to keep an eye on youngsters at bedtime whilst the grown ups enjoy their evening. The property has many original features which can be seen in the dining room especially which has an exposed sandstone wall. The well-fitted kitchen has granite work tops a central island and a large American-style fridge to keep your drinks cool. Patio doors open out onto a paved patio area and the extensive enclosed garden where you can keep careful watch on children or dogs as they play outside. A further twin bedrooom family bathroom and separate toilet are also found on this level. Take the staircase to the first floor and you will reach the master bedroom which has inset floor lights making a feature of the sandstone walls and vaulted ceiling. It also has a dressing area with and en-suite shower room - just another example of the space this property provides. Across the hallway is a further kingsize bedroom.\nOutside the well-kept pathways grounds and sandstone water feature provide an ideal area to sit and relax in but should you choose to venture a little further the local village pub is just a few minutes’ walk and offers home cooked food and excellent ales. The surrounding area is perfect for all and families of any age can enjoy a day out at Muncaster Castle. A ride on the Ravenglass Eskdale Railway is a must and you can spend the day enjoying the various walks at the numerous stops it passes through. Nearby St Bees beach is a lengthy stretch of open sand whilst Wasdale and Wastwater offers some of Lakeland’s finest views and walks. Beach 1¼ miles. Shop 2½ miles pub and restaurant ½ mile. This cottage added that extra touch of sparkle that every holiday needs. The location was brilliant and we wanted for nothing. We had to travel about an hour to the locations we wanted to visit but that was something we should have looked at before we booked the attractions. There are lots of things near the cottage that can be enjoyed but we didn’t do our research. It’s a great cottage that can be enjoyed by lots!

Our family has just had a very relaxing stay at the Station House. It’s been beautifully restored is stylish and comfortable, we all loved the thick pile carpet as well! Great garden and views. Tom the owner was very helpful and available if we had any questions. Lots of fabulous walks and places to explore. We highly recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

A really comfortable and well kitted our house. Felt more like home than a rented house. Will definitely stay again. Great location for us to access Wasdale, Seascale and family in Cockermouth. Local pub in Beckermet has great food too.

Station House was a joy to visit. Tom, the owner, has worked hard to create a most comfortable and welcoming place. It was a faultless stay and we would love to think we could go back sometime. Tom was on hand to sort any problem or query no matter how small (not that we ever needed him) which was very reassuring. The house had everything we could possibly need, it was a home from home and we cannot recommend it enough.

Had a great time. The accommodation was fantastic with a great back story. Loads of interesting places to visit within a 15 minute drive and a cosy pub that serves tasty Sunday lunch, just a 2 minute walk away. Was paid a courteous non-intrusive visit by the owner on the day we arrived. Would highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at the Station House. The place was immaculate and refurbished to the highest standard. Due to it being an old Station House conversion it has lots of beautiful original features that make it an exceptional property to stay in. The location is great for exploring and a lovely pub a few minutes walk away. The owner is helpful and responds to any queries immediately. I would highly recommend this cottage as it's one of the best we have stayed in and would give this place 5 stars.

Absolutely loved this house, wished we were staying longer will definitely be back

We all absolutely loved Station House - dogs included! The cottage was very well equipped which makes a big difference when staying away from home. Having recently been renovated the decoration is fitting with the style of the house and has been completed to a high standard. The garden is lovely and we were able to take advantage with some lovely weather. Tom (the owner) was always on hand to answer any questions we had, and offer advice on places to visit. He really added the personal touch which goes a long way. A fantastic base to discover some of the lesser known parts of the lakes :)

6th-13th sept 2019, Una, A very comfortable house, clean, tidy, good facilities, and good secure garden for dogs with a beautiful view, good location for Lake District and to the beach(best of both worlds), Tom very helpful, and nothing a bother, would recommend this property.

We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this was definitely one of the most luxurious. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, a real pleasure to stay in. The kitchen is well equipped (something we have often found lacking in other places we have stayed). The garden is a great size for dogs and children. Location lovely, and although we had a very wet and windy week there were ample indoor activities available in the area. Would strongly recommend this cottage.

Station House is a modern and exceptionally clean and well kept cottage. We had a truly amazing 12 day holiday here and enjoyed every minute of it whatever the weather. Tom, the owner, went out of his way to accommodate and ensure all are requirements were met and more! The house is in a very quiet edge of the village with spacious and private gardens and clear views over the open country and down to the sea. There is loads to do in this area especially outdoor activities such as walking and beaching - we are looking forward to our next visit!

Myself, husband and two adult sons stayed at Station House for 4 nights and we all enjoyed staying there. It is in an ideal location to explore most of the Lake District. It was lovely to be able to go back at night and sit in a living room rather than a hotel room and there was plenty of space for us all. Tom was very friendly and suggested places to eat and visit. I would certainly recommend staying here.
