One of the nicest cottages we've stayed in - really well equipped, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and finished off with fresh flowers and home-made biscuits. Lovely, rural location with views for miles over the water. Owners were very welcoming and chatted to us about the area, making useful recommendations in addition to the leaflets and magazines they had provided.

Lovely comfortable cosy cottage situated on a hillside within a working farm. Great views over the Solway Firth. Cottage was well decorated, very clean with all amenities and we were made to feel very welcome. WiFi was good. Enclosed garden which was great for our springer spaniel. Fabulous location for sightseeing around all of Dumfries & Galloway. We had a great holiday and highly recommend this cottage.

Just spent a lovely week (2 adults and 2 teenagers) The weather wasn't the best but this didn't matter as the cottage was warm and big enough for 4 of us to chill out in our own space. The kitchen was very well equipped so we didn't need to eat out. I was impressed with the bike shed as it was heated and had a rack to dry wet clothes. The WiFi was good enough for all of us even though we had no phone reception. The living areas, kitchen and bathroom and bedrooms are on 3 levels, about 5 or 6 steps between them. The cottage is up a steep track (decent surface) just off the A75, but this means the views are fantastic and there is no noise from the road. Newton Stewart is easy to reach and has a Sainsburys and Aldi. Kirroughtree visitor centre is just 'up the road' and has cafe, forest walks, mountain bike trails and bike hire. The owners are very busy but happy enough to stop for a chat. Hope to return next year to explore area a bit more.

Really welcoming cottage although it took a few minutes to work out which it was! Accommodation was comfortable and relaxing, far enough from the farm that you weren’t worried about being under the microscope but close enough if you had issues. Garden was great, our border collie likes to relax there and I felt safe as I could with a border collie to allow him to roam there. Local area was good, liked Wigtown as I love books (Reading Lasses is recommenced for a nice lunch) and there is a decent sized ALDI in Newton Stewart nearby. Galloway smokehouse is close and servers good food. Kitchen well stocked with bits and bobs, bathroom also good and bedrooms spacious and comfortable. Main room had two sofas so it was good to relax with a glass of wine and read a book! Was happy there and will most probably rebook in the future. There were a few minor niggles here and there as always but in this case they were so minor I won’t place them here as it would be churlish. Owners popped round and they were really nice. Interesting to see David working on the farm which reminded me that I would never want to be a farmer as I wouldn’t have the stamina! And I think my dog was taken by David’s working dogs!
