Our 4th visit to Suncroft and it was as faultless as the previous 3 visits. It has extensive and safe gardens for pets and children alike. Everything is provided for your comfort and relaxation allowing you to just enjoy all the wonders of Northumberland at leisure. Warkworth and Amble provide everything else; restaurants, cafes, pubs, take away/delivery, supermarkets, butchers, fishmongers and grocery stores. The beach at Warkworth and walks up the river and around the village giving plenty of exercise for both you and any canine friends you take with you. Northumberland is such a dog friendly area especially in the pubs, just make sure you clean up after them and help maintain what must be one of the cleanest, friendliest areas of Britain. Billy and Marie get 5 Big Stars again for such a wonderful base for a fabulous holiday. Thanks again.

After a slight hiccup with entry to the property, sorted quickly by a very apologetic and friendly man we experienced a holiday house with the most facilities, amazing grounds and fantastic location. We rented the property despite the photos of the house as the decorations were not really our taste but the property size, location and garden was exactly what we wanted. We were not disappointed by anything, every element of the house was perfect and even the decorations grew on us all a little bit ! The open plan living arrangements worked well with the kitchen, upstairs and back lounge all available as bolt holes for those wanting a quiet moment. The house is very well cared for and nothing looks shabby or over used. We were able to cook all manner of meals from a cooked breakfast to a full roast dinner and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. The welcome pack of luxury necessities was a lovely touch. The house was spotless when we arrived and all rooms have a light airy feel to them. The garden is amazing and it was great to see how lead-walked lurcher being able to enjoy the grounds without fear he was going to try escape. He had such fun in the evenings trying to catch the rabbits, luckily they are all too clever and quick for him. The garden has seating to 3 sides so its possible to catch any available sun. The large entry gate to the property and general quietness of the area makes you feel very safe. The area has very little light pollution at night and it is possible to star gaze from the comfort of the garden if interested (we were!). Warkworth is just a 5 minute walk from the house (uphill for 30 yards for info if with someone that has breathing difficulties, we did but she managed the walk by taking it slowly). There are places to walk from the house and the beach (very soft sand) is a 15 min walk. We can recommend Masons Arms for real ale, decent prices and very good pub food. The beer garden at the back draws you in so you stay longer than you should ! Overall we could not have asked for a more perfect holiday, 90% of that down to the property and the attention to detail given by the owners.

Only problem we encounter was that the heating could not be turned off without turning off the hot water - an old gravity fed system. :location was perfect for seeing the great sites in Northumberland.

A very well equipped cottage in a most convenient location for exploring the Northumberland coast. Lovely large garden for children to play in. Two double bedrooms a little cramped. Instructions how to use domestic appliances would have been useful, as would instructions on refuse collection days. That said, we had a great holiday in a comfortable cottage and were surprised by a very generous welcome hamper! We would definitely recommend and would be happy to book again.

The perfect holiday house especially if you have children and dogs. The welcome pack for both humans and dogs was excellent! Box full of baby/toddler toys was discovered after a couple of days and greatly appreciated. Warkworth is a very pretty village with riverside walks - grandson enjoyed feeding the ducks - and pub only 5 minutes walk and lovely beach 10-15 minutes. Good atmosphere in Amble on a Sunday with lively market and harbour side pods, good fish restaurants too.

A lovely house, well equipped. Ideal for our little dog. Turned out to be a great location for touring the area and Alnmouth train station so handy for picking up/dropping off our daughter.

Comfortable 3-bedroom house with a very large surrounding garden and woodland. Plenty of local wildlife in evidence particularly rabbits. Owner provides one of the best welcome packs I have ever seen including wine, Milk orange juice, jam and marmalade butter eggs even cereal and the list goes on... Comfortable beds with well stocked toiletries. Broadband is around 3MB sufficient for most uses. Local mobile reception is adequate but intermittent I found. Short 5-10 minute walk into Warkworth with several good pubs and restaurants to savour. Amble is about 4km drive along a scenic route past Warkworth Castle and the Coquet river with Terns and even seals to spot. Well worth spending some time around the area with Amble and Alnmouth close bye. A great location to visit Northumberland with the Scottish border about 1 hrs drive away. Highly recommended this was our second booking.

This was our 3rd time staying at Suncroft and once again we enjoyed a totally relaxing week in Northumberland. Suncroft is the ideal place to use as a base, from here you can visit the whole of the area. It's so convenient for all the castles, beaches, National Trust properties and towns. Billy and Marie once again surpassed themselves in the welcome pack provided and our dog Alfie just loves the freedom of the extensive gardens to run around in. We'll be back again soon. Just hope this review doesn't entice too many visitors as we want it all to ourselves:-)

Comfortable home, issues with central heating radiators ! Can’t switch off individuals ones, need to turn heating on and off at main controls as required. En-suite bathroom window stuck open slightly, luckily it was only cold on one night ! Wi-fi is very poor, couldn’t close gates to secure property as they were rotten ! On the plus side there was a lovely hamper and fresh bread, eggs and milk on our arrival.
