Lodge is very comfortable and clean and well equipped. Great location for exploring the area and a superb country park and lake with access to a 7 mile stretch of beach within walking distance. The garden at the lodge is a delight, so relaxing and a wonderful place to eat, drink and read. The owners have put their hearts and souls into this place. So glad we’ve found this little gem and we’ll definitely be back.

Firstly the owners was absolutely a pleasure to meet. They were very informative about places to visit as it was our first time in Northumberland and it will NOT be our last. Sharing their home was a privilege to of experienced. The garden is absolutely beautiful to which they maintain even as we stayed. The lodge where we stayed was also beautiful. Everything you needed was there.I could even of moved in there. I loved it that much. My pooch loved it there too. So relaxing quiet just what I was looking for. Definitely we will be booking there again.

We were made to feel most welcome including a complimentary bottle of wine and a box of Thornton's chocolates. This was a lovely touch. The garden was outstandingly beautiful and we had use of all the garden furniture. The cottage is located quite close to Druridge bay. A seven mile stretch of beach running from Amble to Cresswell. Druridge bay Country Park and the nature reserve at Hauxley are close by. Amble, Warkworth and Almouth are short drive away. In fact, the cottage is situated in an ideal location for many of Northumberland's beautiful attractions.

Now, where do we start...We spent 4 days at Swallow Lodge along with our dog Woody and everything about our holiday and stay was fantastic from the word go. Jacqui and Paul were wonderful hosts, we were allowed to check in few hours early and were given a complimentary bottle of nice red wine and chocolates. Paul gave us suggestions on places to visit for each day, including the best routes to take, which made our stay totally stress free. The water garden at the back of the house is simply stunning, we loved having our evening tea on the garden swing. It's also a wonderful view to wake up to... We were even offered an extra day of free stay, which we unfortunately couldn't take up due to work commitments. But I wouldn't hesitate to book Swallow Lodge for my next holiday in Northumberland. It's a nice and easy walk from the cottage to Druridge Bay and Country Park. The harbour town of Amble is at less than 10 mins drive and Warkworth Castle is a short walk from Amble.

Host very friendly and welcoming.Nothing was too much troublè. However it needs a bit of attention on items that were not in full working order. Felt very claustrophobic with amount of furniture being squeezed into a small space. Bath not easily accessible. Shower room very tight for space and downstairs loo under stairs and kept hitting head. Saying all this however we did have a lovely week and the garden was amazing.

Wholly recommend the lodge, home from home and everything you need. Across the road is druridge park lake and the beach. Close to amble, which was really lovely. We absolutely loved Warkworth with its castle. Jacqui and Paul were brilliant, really friendly. Photos of the garden don't show true beauty. Weather was on our side too. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
