Porthmadog, 8 miles away, has a variety of shops and different regions of eating restaurants such as Indian, Welsh, Italian and British; perfect for a Sunday roast. Nearby are two narrow gauge railways with steam engines, an 18-hole golf course and pretty harbour. 14 miles away is Beddgelert- most famous for the audio-visual tours of Sygun Copper Mine and a short walk south of the village, following the footpath along the banks of the Glaslyn leads to Beddgelert’s most famous historical feature, ’Gelert’s Grave’.
7 miles away is Criccieth with its famous castle which is a native Welsh castle situated on the headland between two beaches, plenty of shops, restaurants, pebbled beaches, and an animal farm perfect for children; for over 30 years the farm has welcomed visitors to interact with a wide range of farm animals. Under adult supervision, the children are allowed to handle a selection of different types of animals including rabbits, guinea pigs and puppies, as well as hand-feeding many of the larger animals including some rare breeds such as pigmy goats, alpacas, rhea, donkeys, ponies, pigs, and lambs.
