The fenced garden is ideal for your dogs to run and play, and dog towels are also provided. Within 5 minutes’ walking distance from the village is Deopham Green Airfield, home to the 452nd Bomb Group (Heavy) which flew the B-17 Flying Fortresses in WWII. Evidence of runways and the War Memorial remain present today. There are many walks and cycle routes to enjoy, and close by are the country pursuits of clay pigeon shooting, fishing and horse riding.
The pretty market town of Hingham, famous for Abraham Lincolns fore fathers and the Mayflower taking the first settlers to the U.S.A, is close by too, and here you will find lots of independent shops, cafés and a beautiful church. Those wishing to explore will find great road links within easy reach. Head to the medieval city of Norwich, where you will find lots of attractions including the finest example of a Norman castle in the UK, lots of museums, galleries, theatre, music venues and an array of artisan and boutique places to eat, shop and drink. Half an hour in the other direction takes you to Thetford Forest with High Lodge and Go Ape, not to mention acres of forest that are perfect for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers alike.
Sycamore House is central within Norfolk, and the coast is approximately 1 hour away in each direction. You will be spoilt for choice, with Great Yarmouth and all the fun of the fair, and Wells-next-the-Sea with its quaint, single gauge railway and much photographed quay. You can also be at the gateway to the Norfolk Broads in just under 40 minutes. Explore Ely and its magnificent cathedral, which can be reached in around an hour, or spend the day at Banham Zoo. There are bird watching opportunities galore and so much more; you will be so pleased that you chose Sycamore House for your holiday. The market town of Attleborough, with its train station, is 4 miles and Wymondham, with its fine abbey, heritage museum and leisure centre is just 5¾ miles. Wymondham (Abbey Holt) trian ride will take you to the market town of Dereham, 12 miles away. Shop, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.
