Less than a mile away, main roads give access to the myriad attractions and stunning landscapes of the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and County Durham, and the shops, pubs and restaurants of Brough are also only 1 mile away. The larger town of Kirkby Stephen, 5 miles, has a supermarket and variety of gift shops, cafés, a tourist information office, library and station for the Carlisle/Settle railway. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

Lodge is very comfortable and clean. Site is very well kept. It is only small and quiet and ideal to sit back and watch the local wildlife. Arthur is very welcoming and a lovely man. Would recommend the lodge and site and can't wait to go back in the near future.

A great place to stay for both Lakes and Northern Penines. Home from home, beautifully appointed and clean. Wonderful to see red squirrels outside the window. White wine and milk already waiting for you was a lovely touch. Dave, our site manager was very welcoming. We did not need to call upon his help for anything as everything was perfect. Thank you for a great short break.
