Take a boat trip to Brownsea Island with its variety of wildlife, and maybe you will be able to catch a glimpse of the red squirrels who live here. Another popular attraction is to take the chain ferry across to Studland where you can then explore further down the Jurassic Coast, where it would be well worth a visit to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. You can also visit the charming village of Corfe Castle, home to the ruins of a thousand year old castle. From here you could catch a steam train across to the coastal town of Swanage, sure to be make for an interesting day spent exploring. In the opposite direction you can visit Bournemouth with its award winning beaches, and take coastal walks through the Chines looking out towards Old Harry’s Rock and the Isle of Wight. It is also well worth visiting the New Forest where you are sure to see wild ponies wandering around.
