Excellent cottage in almost every respect. Could do with upgrade to broadband ( which available at virtually no extra cost) as fibre-to- the-cabinet is available in the village.

I’d be very tempted to say nothing about this stunning cottage in the hope that nobody else goes... however; It is better equipped than my own home, beautiful finished, great location in High Newton and I couldn’t fault it in any way! We loved it!

The Arches is a beautiful cottage with everything a family would need. Even our dogs were not forgotten. It is set in a quiet location back from the road and is very peaceful. A large patio is ideal for meals al fresco. If you do not want to cook, there is a five star inn two doors down which serves excellent food. There was no noise from their guests either. The beautiful, sandy beaches are some ten minutes walk but also have adjacent car parks for those who need transport. Alnwick and Seahouses are a short drive away and half an hour takes you to Bamburgh or Amble. The weather was not kind to us on our holiday but the rainy days in were cosy in front of the new gas stove. I plan to go again.

The cottage was spacious, beautifully clean and furnished to an excellent standard. We particularly appreciated the convenience of the three lovely bathrooms. The owners had provided many thoughtful extras for the comfort and convenience of our family and pet.

Despite terrible weather our extended family loved the cottage. It was cosy, warm and well appointed and ideally located for the many attractions in Northumberland. We had family and friends visiting on several days and there was plenty of room and equipment for entertaining. We met Maureen the owner and she was kind enough to receive our Tesco order as we had been delayed by heavy traffic. The house was spotless, the beds and linen of high standard and we were sad to leave!

I, along with 3 friends, had a wonderful week’s stay. Everything was great (even the weather didn’t disappoint) Maureen was so helpful and the cottage was very well equipped. Hope we can return to The Arches in the future.
