Moniaive has been described as the "coolest village in Scotland" and it lived up to its name! We loved The Barn at the Bakery - it was well planned and well fitted out. And dog friendly! The Italian Restaurant in the village was excellent. Moniaive is a good place to base yourself to spend time in D&G - we visited Warnockhead Lead Mining Museum, Crawick Multiverse, Dumfries, Kirkcudbright and the Striding Arches. Village shop is well stocked and Glenwhisk cafe good for lunch!
