The Barn is the perfect place to spend a relaxing time in the beautiful Peak District National Park, an area steeped with natural beauty and a vast array of attractions and activities to suit a group of all ages and tastes, you will never be stuck for things to do! Inside this barn conversion, you will find stylish and contemporary interiors with a country cottage twist. With an open-plan living area with a farmhouse kitchen featuring a large dining table, and underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, this really is an impressive and welcoming space for the whole family. The ground floor also boasts a twin room and separate shower room. Upstairs, you will find two double bedrooms which are tastefully decorated and a family bathroom. There is as much to enjoy outside as there is on the inside at The Barn. A large patio terrace overlooks the Peak District and feature your very own bubbling hot tub to relax in. The owners are passionate about the local wildlife and the care taken for the animals that inhabit the Peak District, with on-site bird feeding stations dotted all around the property, and well-kept surrounding fields that attract wildlife such as hares and voles, you can even see hundreds of newborn lambs in the surrounding fields in the springtime.
Why not visit the market town of Leek, where you will find a range of pubs, restaurants and cafés for all your dining needs, as well as plenty of stores for picking up all those essentials. If you’re looking for walking opportunities, you’ve come to the right place, as a 20-minute drive from the property will bring you to the Manfold Trail, which you can explore on foot or bicycle, as well as Thor’s Cave and the old copper mines at Ecton. Nearby Tittesworth Reservoir is the ideal spot for those looking to get involved with some watersporting activities, particularly fishing, and you can also enjoy walking the marked trails of varying lengths. Birdwatchers will have fun trying to spot the many bird species that visit the area.
30 minutes from The Barn, you will find Hartington village, famous for its stilton cheese, along with the Victorian Spa town of Buxton. Those who enjoy a little adventure should head to the gritstone climbing crag of The Roaches, which attracts some of the country’s most famous climbers, with climbing and bouldering for all abilities, as well as scenic walks to enjoy the extensive views over Cheshire and as far as the Welsh mountains.
