The Bolthole was great it was just what we wanted. A great location for walking & visiting local places of interest. The cottage had everything we wanted including a log burner that we really enjoyed. All in all a great cottage for a holiday.

We had a smashing time at the Bolthole. The cottage had everything we needed, it was clean , compact and overall excellent. The owners were very helpful on arrival. Lots of walks for the dog too. The local pub also highly recommended.

A lovely part of the world: we enjoyed some great walks in Dartmoor, visited Buckland Abbey which is literally right outside the village of Milton Combe, and had a day at the coast at Wembury which is just 40 minutes' drive away. The village itself is very peaceful and set in a deep valley so you really feel like you've got away from it all. The local pub ('Who'd Have Thought It') served stunning food - we went there three nights in a row. Because the village is so small, there isn't a shop in it, but you don't have to drive very far to find one. The cottage was nice and cosy, especially once we had lit the wood fire. Both bedrooms and the bathroom were fine. We didn't cook at all so can't really say much about the kitchen, though the toaster could do with being replaced. Dishwasher and washing machine both worked OK. In a perfect world there would be a garden out the back that the dog could be let into, but that is impossible given the location - the slope behind the row of cottages is almost vertical. Not a major issue, though, as it is easy to walk the dog around the village and there is almost no traffic to worry about.

Very nice cottage & well looked after. Very clean & well maintained. Made to feel like a local, by all the locals especially the landlady of the pub. A car is needed to get around as there is no shop in the village but a bus does go to the village.
