With its own sunny secluded garden the detached single storey cottage is situated high up in the unspoilt Eden Valley on the boundary of the new Westmorland Dales the extension of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Here the holidaymaker has easy access to the surrounding countryside the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Very relaxing holiday, wildlife in the garden, birds, squirrels and hens. Great for visiting different places

We found The Byre to be the perfect place for our holiday. The location is wonderful, so quiet and peaceful. It is located ideally to explore the Lake District and the Dales, with so much so close. The owners were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We would love to stay there again.

Over all nice time apart from the cold wind and 4inch of snow we got on 1 day but cosy enough especially when log burner lit also a big thanks to the owners who let us use a field that had no animals in so the dogs could have a run also many thanks to them for lending us some bath towels as we forgot ours on the whole nice place to stay.

A pleasant rustic ground floor accommodation with nice enclosed garden and enough parking for one car. Limited walking on the doorstep but more further afield. A bit difficult to find and even local dog walkers were not sure of its whereabouts. Better signposting would help. Adequately equipped though no towels supplied. No WiFi and very poor phone signal - fine if you want to get away from it all! Narrow bath and no shower tap made it tricky for one of us. Could have done with better hooks for coats and a washing line for wet dog towels. Information in cottage rather out of date (wouldn’t have mattered if we could check via internet).

Very nice cottage, very cosy and warm. Could have done with a shower, only a very small bath provided. The seating in the lounge not very comfortable. Otherwise everything well provided for.

Great week in very cosy and welcoming cottage.Perfect peace away from hustle and bustle of the maddening crowd. Very dog friendly with plenty of areas to walk. The birds during the day and the sky at night were a great bonus. Thank you for your welcoming little items and not forgetting free range eggs at a very reasonable price , they were the best I’ve tasted for years. Hence would love to return sometime,
