Lickleyhead Castle is a Grade A listed historic building from the 16th century. It can accommodate up to 16 adults, 4 children and 3 dogs.

Despite its grandeur, The Castle feels very much like a home with the five working fireplaces and the overwhelming smell of woodsmoke which greets you as you climb the stone staircase. Outside, the sound of running water and abundant birdlife combine to provide an atmosphere of peace and calm. The owner also hosts weddings and offers complimentary golf to guests.
Each of the bedrooms have been styled to reflect the period of former owners of note. This includes the 16th-century box bedroom which has proven to be a great favourite with guests, and the Victorian nursery on the very top floor. The Castle grounds which are exciting to explore, extend to 11 acres, with two burns (streams), rope swings to discover, not to mention a ruined archway and a bird hide. It is also situated on the lower slopes of Bennachie which of course means plenty of wonderful walks from the doorstep.
The whole building will be yours! Weddings for up to 30 people can be hosted at Lickleyhead Castle. The owner specialises in destination weddings, elopements and vow renewals, though any wedding type will be accommodated. Guests at Lickleyhead Castle can play complimentary golf at Insch Golf Club, and up to six people at a time can play. If there are over six guests wanting to play, they will need to pay £15 per round. This is unlimited, meaning you could play golf every day during your stay at no extra cost. For guests there is also 50% off a round at clubs affiliated with Insch in Aberdeenshire.
