Welcome pack and bathrobes. Enclosed lawned garden with gravel courtyard patio garden furniture patio heater and BBQ. Shared 9 acre grounds. Ample parking. No smoking. Please note No children under 12 years of age and there is a fenced brook in the grounds.\n Many years ago The Cider House was used for storage of grain and home-produced cider barrels from which its name derives and preceding that it housed the farmstead’s cows. More recently the owners of this model Flemish Bond brick-building have seen it transformed into a calm comfortable and relaxing retreat in the hills. Well-kept and equipped with all necessary mod-cons the property is an enviable holiday accommodation ideal for those who seek solace from the madding crowd and the pressures of the everyday grind.\nThe property is situated in 9 acres of meadowland with a meandering brook and smallholding within the grounds of the owner’s working farm Highbridge Farm surrounded by rolling Herefordshire countryside yet with easy access to the pretty market town of Ledbury. History emanates from every corner of the farm earthworks are still visible along the edge of the spinney which dates back to 1066 and the land around the present location of Highbridge Farm has been worked since the Norman times. Buildings of the farm have been present since c1540 and although it has now silted up and planted with young trees the small stream was once dammed to form a header pool most likely used to feed the nearby River Leadon. Also visible are medieval ridge and furrow earthworks a ploughing system used in the Middle Ages which have been mapped from aerial photos as part of the Malvern Hills National Mapping Programme. Sure enough the property is great for those who have a thirst for history.\nWalkers can enjoy walks from the doorstep and beyond to the Malvern Hills you might want to bring a camera sketch pad and pencil as the area is also popular with photographers artists and cyclists alike. There are many historical places of interest to visit including castles National Trust houses and gardens. Ledbury itself offers a selection of boutique shops galleries restaurants and local attractions. The picturesque Forest of Dean is well worth a visit for a picnic or absorb the stunning scenery of the Wye Valley. Further afield but within easy driving is the cathedral city of Hereford Ross-on-Wye Gloucester and Cheltenham. Shop 1¼ miles pub 1 mile and restaurant 1½ miles. \n " https://img.chooseacottage.co.uk/Property/930/840/930731.jpg W43815

Carol and Ian made us welcome throughout our stay. The cottage was absolutely wonderful. Everything you could ever need from a sewing kit to a tumble dryer. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Lots of wonderful walks all within easing reach from the cottage. Some a short drive. Some direct from the cottage. We all had a very relaxing stay. Thank you.

Our week away was probably one of the wettest for a long time and had we been staying somewhere other than this cottage then we may well have given up and gone home, but The Cider House has been so beautifully furnished that we were happy to relax and spend time indoors. Carole and Ian are friendly and welcoming hosts who have thought of everything that anyone would need to have a relaxing break be it rain or shine. Animal lovers will enjoy the feathered friends and the sheep who are very friendly. Would highly recommend this cottage and with a car, there are some great places to eat and visit.

A very comfortable cottage that is well-equipped. Plenty of lovely little touches to make it very welcoming. Perfect location for walking in the Malvern hills and exploring the area - is located on a quiet road away from the town so not easy to walk into town if that is important to you (but that was not an issue for us). Very friendly owners who were most helpful for local information.

Very welcoming friendly hosts to a beautiful cottage well equipped, well stocked and furnished to a high standard. The cottage is pretty perfect, just one small issue if you were on a walking holiday with bad weather there is little space for 4 pairs of dirty boots, wet outside clothes or muddy paws ? etc.
