There is a train station only 400 yards from The Coppice, making a trip to Newcastle to the south or Berwick and Edinburgh in the north, an easy route to explore further afield. The Coppice is an excellent choice for those seeking a stylish base from which to explore the beautiful 20-mile stretch of Heritage Coastline, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the east, and the wild and lonely expanses of the heather-capped Cheviot Hills to the west. This is a house on a suburban housing estate and not a country holiday cottage. Also everything is pale - cream carpets etc. It is someone’s home, not somewhere you can feel comfortable. I am a cottage owner of many years and I felt the description was misleading.

One of the best holiday cottages we've stayed in! Excellent layout of the house - children at one end, grown-ups at the other. Separate lounge for the kids much appreciated by both the kids & us parents. We ate in for evening meals due to young children so very much appreciated the brilliant kitchen - sharp knifes for once! Very well equipped. The only thing we missed was a steamer. Our kids were fine - we made do- but other families might appreciate some kids' plastic stuff such as beakers, bowls, children's cutlery. Brilliant location not far from A1. And close to gorgeous Alnmouth beach. Decent playground 5mins walk. We would stay again!

A superb stay in an exellently appointed property. We could not fault anything, the owners had obviously taken a great deal of thought to provide the necessities from dishwasher tablets............ to wine! Highly recommend.

Great house in a lovely location. The house had everything you need, was absolutely spotless & the beds were super comfortable, it was like a home from home. The host have thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It’s a 10 min walk from the nearest beach and a 10 minute drive to Alnwick. We just loved everything about our stay and would definitely go back.

Great holiday cottage. Big plus was the stair gate which was available to fit. Great location. Short walk to alnmouth to the beach, or to the station.

Really lovely clean and homely holiday accommodation. Could not fault it all and felt at home as soon as we walked through the front door. We have visited Northumberland on many occasions but had never visited Alnmouth. What a beautiful place and so convenient for The Coppice.

A good location for visiting this part of Northumberland, only problem was control of central heating radiator temperature in property - letting agent advised of problem.

A lovely, well-equipped, comfortable and spacious holiday home, in a great location for exploring Northumberland. Alnwick is only a few miles away and has all the amenities you'd require. Nice walks from the doorstep. The property has clearly been maintained to a high standard and has everything you could possibly require - it really is a home from home. I can't fault it, and would happily recommend it to anyone - we'd like to return next year as there's so much to see and do in the area, a one week stay wasn't enough.
