Deceptively spacious - really well kitted out. Everything was provided and of good quality. There were TWO huge reception rooms - with a total of four full sized sofas, but it was not cramped. The wifi worked well and the one television/DVD we used had BT vision on it. There were televisions in both downstairs rooms and (I think) all three bedrooms. It was clean - however, there was a musty smell - but, I noticed it had been vacant the week prior to our visit (at least no one had signed the guest book). We aired it out and purchased some air fresheners. It improved. We appreciated being able to park off the road and right in front of the door. It made loading and unloading easier - and it was raining when we loaded the car - but with the back of the up - nothing got wet. The rear garden was secure and we were able to let the dog out with no worries. We were very close to a small shop (charming owner) and a restaurant/pub. We did not try the pub. You cannot fault the location - due east of Holy Island and fairly equal distance/driving time from numerous area attractions (Alnick Castle, Bamburgh Castle, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Seahouses, The Farne Islands, Warwork Castle, Etal Castle, etc. Lowick is a very charming village. Quite picturesque and set in a beautiful area between the North Sea and the National Forest. With regards to the cottage the only concern we had was that refrigerator did not seem to be cooling evenly - the higher shelves were much warmer than the lower ones (which benefitted from being directly above the freezer). I think my husband sent an email to the owner, but I will do so now. I am sure he will sort it. His communication was excellent (quick).

Whilst the cottage is very well located, spacious and very well equipped (it had more stuff than anywhere else I have ever stayed) The boiler stopped working at the start of our stay and whilst these things do happen, the owners were faultless in the speed with which they dealt with this, they were great. However, in all honesty it could do with a bit of an update, the sofas in the back lounge are old and tired and not very comfortable. The cleaning could be better, there were numerous cobwebs and dog hairs on the rugs, which when you’re with an allergy sufferer is noticeable. That said it’s a lovely little village and we had a lovely week but we wouldn’t book again.

Very nice cottage, very spacious very well equipped. no shaver point but overall one of the best cottages we have stayed in. TV in every room so great for kids. The owners have tried to think of everything you might need. Great location with so much to do, just was not long enough to see everything. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

The Cottage was in a great location. We were there for 4 nights and had a wonderful time - helped by glorious October weather. Lowick is a lovely village with an interesting history and buildings which reflect this. The Black Bull was a fantastic pub with a very friendly and welcoming landlord. The local shop was well provisioned and the owners gave us lots of advice about the local area. Great for walking the hills (The Cheviot), along the beach (Beadlam to Low Newton) and visiting Holy Island and Cragside.
